  1. Hello all. I have a issue that i need help resolving. I am putting together my first home theater and was unpacking everything and realized that I am a idiot. While I tried to make sure I got all the features I was looking for I overlooked pre-outs. I contacted the dealer and he stated he would work with me on an exchange. So the two receivers I am now going between are the marantz 5003 and the onkyo 706. The onk has 10 more watts per channel and a couple more bells and dodadds than the marantz but the marantz boast about a much better amp section. I am planning on adding a 3 channel amp in the near future for the front stage so while wattage is important I dont think 10 watts is that big a deal. Please give me as much feedback *** possible and as to which all of yall would choose. By the way it' hooked to the RF-82 package. Thanks a bunch Camaromoe
  2. Sorry forgot to mention the business is closing asap. H esaid hopefully by monday so I dont really have much time to think on it.
  3. OK new question and im sure yall will think it is stupid but a retailer in the metroplex is going out of business. He has the rf82's for 600.00 and the rf63's for 1100.00. Now my question is do I do the big upgrade now and get the 63's or go with the 82's and get the rs 52's which he has for400.00. I I can only do one or the other. I didn't really get to crank the 63's so I might not know what their fullest potential is, but with my virgin audio thought process ( Is the 63's worth twice the price of the 82's). Should I just get the 63's now and hope that another deal comes later to pick up the rs52's. Thanks for any help .
  4. Ok I'm sure by know everyone is getting annoyed with all of the questions but I've got a big one. I was in talking to my local klipsch dealer and he was saying that he was going to have to sell off his floor models on the rf-82's because I was hoping to have them in a week or so. So i asked if he had the 83's in stock and he said no that he could also sell those off of his floor. He said he could part with them for 1600.00 Now my question is do I go with the 82's that I had planned or get the 63's. I already have the money set aside so I was wondering if the upgrade was going to be worth it and if it would work ok with the rc62 or would it be awful. If i do go with the 63's it would be a little while until i could upgrade the center to the rc64. So once again all advise is being asked for and anyone that has somthing to offer to help me make a choice feel free to chime in. Thanks again, camaromoe
  5. Thanks for all of the responses. I have done some reading and I belive I am going to go with the furman. I looked and looked with very few bad posts about the product. Thanks again to all that replied
  6. Hello all I am fairly new to the forum and am pulling together my first media room. I live in the country and assume that I dont have the best or cleanest power out there. I am running a onkyo receiver, blu ray player, DVD-A player, cd player along with a rw12d, rc62 and soon either rf82 or rf83's... still deciding. Do any of yall have any knowledge to pass on as to what is a good product and not kill the wallet. Any hellp will be greatly appreciated.
  7. Thanks for all of the speedy replies and advise on the speakers. I just need to quit being cheap and get the 82's. I will be happier with the sound and upgrade in the end i"m sure. It's nice to know there is so many people out there with advise and williung to share it. Where I am in Texas there isn't many people that seem to care about a good sound. Please keep the advise coming as there is only 1 dealer within 150miles of where I live and I'm sure he is tired of me already. Very insightful proffesor about Moe with the camaro. Is it that obvious? Ok new question do you think that I should really use all 7 channels for the other set of rears in a room roughly 18'x22'. Also can I not bi-wire the speakers with kimber kable to try and clean up the recording as much as possible? thanks again for all of the knowledge thus far.
  8. Hello there as ya'll can see I am new to the forum and to the world of home theater. I will apologize in advance as my knowledge on these items are being newly developed. I do have a couple of questions though to really get me going. To give a little background I just built a home with a media room and have purchased the rc62 rs52's and rw12d. I also purchased the onkyo txsr607. Mt first question is I am still trying to figure out what front speakers to go with the rf62's or rf82's. I love the more midrange of the 82's but am concerned first of all if they will sound good with the rest of the setup that I have. Next I would like to know if the receiver will put out enough power for the 82's. The receiver is 90w at 8ohms and is 6ohms stable at 110w. The second question is the reciver is a 7.2 which I am only planning on using 5 channels and the reciver is capable of bi-amping on the front channels. Would this be the thing to do for extra and cleaner power and sound for the fronts or should I invest in a seperate amp. Next I have a friend that has given me first dibs on his rt10d due to him upgrading to the rt12d. My receiver is a 7.2 so it should handle this but I was curious as to if this would be to much bass or would it help to fill the room better having both subs hooked up. Lastly I have a SACD DVD-A dvd player that I enjoy listning to when not watching dvd's. movies 70% music 30% do any of ya'll know where to find a good selection of either format discs. Sorry for all the questions but I would like to get a good solid system started and build gradually to my dream media room. Thanks in advance for any and all help.
  9. Hello there' This will be my first of many posts I'm sure as I have been Bitten by the audio bug. I have just had a home built and had a media room built with it. Now that the hard stuff is ou tof the way I am ready to get to the fun stuff. I will apologize in advance as I have mulitple questions. I have the rc62 rs52 rw12d as of right now along with a onkyo 607. My fist question is the new receiver is 90w by 7 channels with the option to bi-amp the fronts. I am trying to decide weather to go with the rf62's or82's? The receiver is a 7.2 and I am only planning on using 5 channels so I can bi amp or add a new amp along with the receiver. Will I have enough power and will their be any sound issues upgrading to the 82's? Second question which would be smarter bi amp with other two channels or buy external amp or does the receiver put out enough power as is? Third question is I have a friend that is selling his rt-10d and since my receiver is a 7.2 will it sound unusal to have both subs hooked up. I know this is a loaded post but I'm trying to get everything going as quickly as possible. Thanks in advance for any info or advise at all.
