  1. I have a Yamaha RX-V565 running the sub. I have the switch on the back set to auto detect signal to turn on the sub. I have noticed the sub doesn't always turn on or off when the reciever turns on or off. Any ideas why? I have tryed a y-cable versus a single line in and it does the same with both.
  2. This happened again yesterday with the left rear surround. I think it has something to do with the surge protector being a piece of crap. Any ideas?
  3. I have a Yamaha RX-V565 receiver running Klipsch Quintets (system is about 1 week old). Yesterday I was watching the final round of the BMW Championship and, for the first time, noticed a click in the right rear surround speaker. I was not using the receiver for audio, but the video signal passes through the receiver via HDMI. The click was sporadic, probably less than 5 clicks in 3 hours with no obvious reason why it was happening (ie. No moments in the video or audio that corresponded to the clicks). Any ideas? I just remembered an important piece of information. The rear surrounds are running wireless through a Rocket Fish wireless speaker kit. Could it be interference or a bad circuit of some sort causing the clicking? I have a surge protector at the outlet, but it is not a very good one.
  4. I have a Yamaha RX-V565 by the way. I'm not sure if it controls it or not to be honest. I am currently running a signal cable from the reciever to the "line in" port of the sub. Out of curiousity, would I get better sound out of a Y cable or would it make no difference? If so, I don't think I have seen a subwoofer cable with a Y end.
  5. Picked up one of these bad boys yesterday. Coupled it with the Klipsch Quintet and a Yamaha RX-V565. Now, I am no audiophile and I don't pretend to be, so I need some help. This sub has a low pass crossover adjust and a gain adjust. I know the gain adjust is basically a volume control, but I have no clue where the low pass crossover should be set. Any recommendations? After some research it looks like 80Hz is a good starting point. One place mentioned cranking it all the way to 120Hz, but that doesn't seem right because you don't want that frequenecy signal going through the sub, right?
