  1. Is that because they won't match tonally? The RC3 doesn't match the RF3 tonally already in my opinion. They're close but not the same at all. One is sealed the other is not and they sound that way. The speakers would be sitting on a wide floating cabinet that will be under the TV. Lateral would be fine - just don't want to move backward.
  2. Hi all. I have a surround system based around RF3 II's and RC3. My system is being moved to our bedroom (long story) so I need to make a few adjustments. Primarily I need smaller mains. The room is actually pretty big - the entire suite is 750 sqft but the BR itself is about 19 x 17 with half of one side open to the rest of the suite. Wall to wall carpet, 2nd floor. I plan on upgrading to a large powerful sub to make up for any loss in bottom end. What kind of difference can I expect moving to the RB-61 and a serious sub? Architectural would be even better visually but I don't think they'll sound as good and I sort of don't feel like messing with them. I love the RF3's. Nice warm sound (to me) and never fatiguing yet very forward. I don't want to loose those qualities. Thanks! Rob
  3. I have a ksw-12. I'm guessing the 200 sounds just like it if not as good but I have no idea. Reason I'm asking is they're cheap and was wondering if it would be worth adding one to the mix to move more air or if I should just focus on front firing subs. -Rob
  4. I was hoping I wouldn't have to buy an entire grill. I'd probably just ignore if in that case unless the grills are very cheap.
  5. Not sure if this is the right place to post this but... My center RC-3 is missing the Klipsch emblem or button that sticks on the grill. Anyone know where you can get one? Does Klipsch sell replacement parts like this? Thanks, -Rob
  6. Not sure if this is a correct comparison but they seem to be priced similarly in the used arena (RS-7 is a bit more). The RS-42 has two woofers pointing in the same direction as the tweeters so I'm guessing it would disperse the midrange and midbass more uniformly. With the two 4" woofers theoretically the bass should be comparable but I'm sure there are differences. What are those differences? Which design is better for a 5.1 system and why? Which one sounds fuller? Nevermind, I did a lot more searching and found pretty much what I needed.
  7. Oh, and where do you get a deal like that on the RS-42? Everwhere I look their more like $200 each.
  8. The RS42 would be a very tight fit but it might work. The RS3 or 25 would be a better fit, I was not aware of those. I imagine the 42 would be much fuller with 2 woofers. Is it better to go sealed or ported or does it matter?
  9. I have two RF-3 II mains and an RC-3 Center (plus a KSW-12 sub which I'll upgrade at some point). I need two surrounds to be used for 90% TV/HT. Any music is typically live concert videos. The area I'm installing them is height limited (above a window) so I need to stick with the surrounds that are shaped like the RS-10. The room is around 15 x 20. Should I stick with the RS-10 or will the lower models like the Synergy series do just as well? I don't know how much sound the surrounds end up playing and if the Synergy's will match close enough to the other speakers. Thanks, -Rob
