  1. Hi guys...how are you??? Cornscalas sounds very good after some years.... I just bypassed the autotrasformer on the CT125 in my absorbent room and I continue to listen with grilles on. Just perfect for me!!!! Thank you again!!! ;-)
  2. Thanks for sharing those very very interesting documents !!!!! I'm going to read all !!!! I'm a novice and I'm surprised that La Scala bass horn is "exponential". I supposed to be conical because the walls of the horn are planar (!!!!?????!!!!) See you after my vacations (without internet and computers...) in 10 days... ;-) I've to study a lot :-(
  3. @WMcD: Ok WMcD, I'll wait you infos!!! @djk: before start with software I'd like to understand the theory.... ;-)
  4. Thank you WMcD !!!! Here my spreadsheet. I can't understand the formula for the lenght of a conical horn on the link above. (T=infinity , ecc....) Could anyone post this formula??? I'll put it on my spreadsheet. Thank you again!!!!
  5. Let's speak just about CONICAL horn. What is the formula to calculate the lenght of the horn??? In the link above I see just the sections (throat and mouth) but not the overall lenght of a conical horn (in the case of T=00). I've already calculate: 1)Sections 2)Back chamber 3)Compression chamber I need to calculate the lenght.
  6. Thank you guys!!!! I'm a novice so I'm trying to divide the problem in several little problems...to be solved separately.
  7. Hi guys, some years ago I've built a pair of Cornscalas, here the tread: http://community.klipsch.com/forums/t/125302.aspx Now I'm looking for a simple and big basshorn. The following design it's OK ??? (Conical horn with triangular section) http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/4/tromba1rev0.jpg/ To calculate the dimensions the following theory is OK??? http://www.bd-design.nl/contents/en-us/d26_Bass_Horn_Design.html Thank you in advance for your answers and sorry for my written english!!!!!
  8. Many thanks guys!!!! I'm going to install the R3650 in a very thick wall (near 20") made by rock. So I would ask: what's the correct volume that I've to use for the best sound???? I've to use some damping stuff in it????
  9. @colterphoto1: according to the compatibility with the Reference series do you think the R3650 is better than SCW3 ??? Even with a smaller woofer???
  10. Given my room constraints i have to use in wall speakers (front, center, surround). I have the opportunity to buy R3650 (new 6,5") or SCW3 (old 8") at the same price for front. What is better as front channels????? What I have to buy as front channels?????? Thank you !!!!
  11. new 6,5" vs old 8" : what is better as front channel?????
  12. I've already built my Cornscalas (with the old Bob Crites stuff: PH800 horns, CT125 tweeter, etc...). Here my building 3d: http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/p/125302/1267426.aspx#1267426 Now a friend would build another couple. So, if I well understud, the best (regardeless to cost) is the Eliptrac 400 + Circletrac HF combo. The best value for money combo is the Bob Crites Type C. I well understud??? Sorry, but I can't speak american. ;-)
  13. Good morning (in Italy...), do you think the combo Eliptrac 400 mid horn + Circletrac HF (that you built also...) is better than Cornscala Type C or not??? Thanks in advance for your answer and for any other contribution !!!!!! Roberto.
  14. Those I saw, was walnut color. Could be painted by some owner...I suppose. Any other suggestions? Thank you!!!!
  15. Hi guys, sorry for my bad american, I'm writing from Italy. I've already built a pair of Cornscalas (see : http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/t/125302.aspx if interested..). Now I'm looking for a pair of Klipschorn for another house. I've watched a pair having the following datas: Type KCFR Serial Number right 4K462 Serial Number left 4K318 I searched the following informations: KC = no collar (What is means??? It's a good specification???) FR = fir raw (It's correct??? It's a good specification???) K = year production 1972, not sequencial numbers. (It's correct???) The seller say that the woofers were upgrated to alnico klipsch woofer (he said "the best for klipschorn"). To better match those woofers to the rest of the speaker the old italian distributor replaced the old crossover with a crossover AK-3. Could you tell me if those modifications are good or bad???? I've to buy or wait a better opportunity??? Thank you a lot !!!
