  1. Hi guys,

some years ago I've built a pair of Cornscalas, here the tread:

    http://community.klipsch.com/forums/t/125302.aspx

Now I'm looking for a simple and big basshorn.

The following design it's OK ??? (Conical horn with triangular section)

To calculate the dimensions the following theory is OK???

Thank you in advance for your answers and sorry for my written english!!!!!

  2. I'd use a center that best matched the sound of your main L/R speakers. R3650 is Reference series compatible.

@colterphoto1: according to the compatibility with the Reference series do you think the R3650 is better than SCW3 ???

    Even with a smaller woofer???

  3. Given my room constraints i have to use in wall speakers (front, center, surround).

I have the opportunity to buy R3650 (new 6,5") or SCW3 (old 8") at the same price for front.

What is better as front channels?????

What I have to buy as front channels??????

    Thank you !!!!

  4. I've already built my Cornscalas (with the old Bob Crites stuff: PH800 horns, CT125 tweeter, etc...).

    Here my building 3d:

Now a friend would build another couple.

So, if I well understud, the best (regardeless to cost) is the Eliptrac 400 + Circletrac HF combo.

The best value for money combo is the Bob Crites Type C.

    I well understud???

    Sorry, but I can't speak american. ;-)

  5. Hi guys,

sorry for my bad american, I'm writing from Italy.

I've already built a pair of Cornscalas (see :

    http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/t/125302.aspx

    if interested..).

Now I'm looking for a pair of Klipschorn for another house.

I've watched a pair having the following datas:

    Type KCFR

    Serial Number right 4K462

    Serial Number left 4K318

    I searched the following informations:

KC = no collar (What is means??? It's a good specification???)

FR = fir raw (It's correct??? It's a good specification???)

K = year production 1972, not sequencial numbers. (It's correct???)

The seller say that the woofers were upgrated to alnico klipsch woofer (he said "the best for klipschorn").

To better match those woofers to the rest of the speaker the old italian distributor replaced the old crossover with a crossover AK-3.

Could you tell me if those modifications are good or bad????

I've to buy or wait a better opportunity???

    Thank you a lot !!!

  6. Good evening from Italy!!!!

I have some questions about the Klipsch One that in Italy are sold by Apple stores.

    1)Klipsch define it "on-ear": this means "circum-aural" or "over-aural" ???

2)The cable (with the commands) is it detachable???

3)Are OK with the Ipod shuffle old version (the one without commands on it) ???

Thank you in advance for your support !!!!

    Roberto.

  7. Good evening guys!!!!

    How are you?

I'm pleased to inform that my Oppo BD 83 - SE was upgraded on output stages.

Aurion Audio (the same that upgraded my Musical Fidelity A1) made some pure class A, no op-amp, zero feedback discrete output stages.

An additional transformer and an additional mosfet power supply feed current on those stages.

My Cornscalas sounds better of ever!!!!

PS Now I'm drawing a new cabinet for my Oppo.

It will be built with cherry wood on the sides (as my Cornscalas) and mdf on top and will be drilled on top to improve the cooling of the very hot pure class A output stages!!!!!!
