  1. I just listened to these two speakers today and also feel that the RF-82's are more of an all-purpose speaker than the RF-63. And besides, the footprint on the 63 is ridiculously too large for my HT room. The RF-82 footprint would be a much better fit. I am close to making a decision within the month or so and it looks like the RF-82s and matching RC-62 is the winning ticket for me. One other speaker that I did audition was the Icon WF-35. I haven't read or seen too much on these but of what I have, there were more negatives. But I had to hear it for myself. These were definitely not as harsh others have mentioned and if anything, the highs are definitely smoother than expected. The midrange was adequate but despite that, when I listened to the whole matching set (center, surrounds and sub) to a DVD movie sampler, I was completely blown away at the detail and the soundstage that they presented. Great system for HT. However, although the low end sounded pretty good for a speaker of this dimension and design, I just think that for a 2-channel setup, they just don't have what it takes. That's when the salesman switched to the RF series... And that was all it took... Currently, I have the Klipsch KSF 8.5 for my fronts and a KSF C5 for my center (I know, I know... an upgrade is definitely in order here). I did run a Denon AVR-5700DTS (still have and will use for another room) but I just purchased the Pioneer Elite SC-27. Very nice receiver and that is also why I'm looking to upgrade my front speakers and center channel. Anyway, I'll keep you posted of what happens... Great thread!
