  1. Hi I'm a Uk La Scala owner. and therefor you all know I must have good taste. Well I've just seen THE LONE RANGER and its brilliant, So America just ignore the critics and go and see it
  2. Sorry guys just figured it out, It's the old Tape monitor outputs I need to use.
  3. Hi Guys, Just looking for a bit of bottom end slam. on my La Scala11's Noticed there's a lot of forumerers that suggest a sub would be the way to go. I thought active might be easiest , but how the heck do you wire one in, As most hi fi Pre's don't have a sub output.
  4. Well guys sorry to bother you, but I've just now this last hour, changed my speaker wires in a upward direction. Behold all that top end sparkle I thought I had been missing has Arrived. Ahhhh really happy man Sorry to raise a silly issue
  5. Well the question is as above. I do have a pair and indeed am a pretty happy man. But the chap doing the stereophile review mentioned a need for a bit extra top end. Just wondered if anyone took the bait, or general thoughts
  6. Hi Guys Yeah thanks for that, Nothing wrong really having arrived late to these lovely boxes.( Not at all well represented in the Uk ) think it must be the invisible man They are simply bloody marvelous , just one keeps reading upgrade crossover this etc.so the little upgrade thought creeps in. My only slight concern is not much punch in the bass end, but I'm using Smart 845's which could be the culprit. Will be slipping in a Beard p100 soon when some Newish valves arrive, so see if this tightens things up. Maybe slip that sub in too, might clean it up too.
  7. Hi Guys only had my la Scalas which are latest edition ,for a couple of years, Just wondered if the later model can be improved with any simple upgrade. I guess crossover related or how about a super tweeter. Cheers Tref
  8. Hi Guys, I'm driving my la Scala II 's with single ended 845's at the moment. Unison Research Smart's with I think bottom End Chinese.originals Wondered if any other BIG tube users out there had any experience regarding choice of tube for audio improvements. Although afraid the NOS stuff is just too expensive for me.
  9. Well I reckon that last reply should be regarded as our definitive one. So Thanks guys seems my Speakers happen to be in the right place. One more step taken on the road to Audio Nirvana. Thanks for all the input, Just wish they were known about more over this side of the pond
  10. Thanks guys , I'm getting a definite feeling in my toes.
  11. Klipsch la Scalas, Is there a general consensus on whether to toe in, or fire straight down the room placement, for the big boys, o or is it the traditional thumb rule.
  12. Ditto on the journey. My la Scalas took me to that point of musical satisfaction, They do so much to get you into the performance.
  13. Hi Guys Thanks for all the kind advice, it's great seeing all those mystical far away names, must admit "rodeo drive" sounds a bit posh. I'll check out that Amp site. I do have a pair of quads sitting on a shelf as it happens. Keep you posted.
  14. Hi Guys, Never thought I'd ask this question, Been happy using single ended 845.s to drive my lovely (ex dem)latest version La Scala's. But have just recently heard that a ballsy amp can tighten up the bass....... any thoughts. By the way I'm on that little overcrowded island, over the pond where you would be hard pressed to know Klipsch had importers. I get the impression I'm one of very few owners of such Flippin staggeringly brilliant speakers in the country. Any Brits on this Forum ?
  15. Hi Marvel On my Christmas family tour at the moment, , missing my la Scalas , hence being on- line. `I'll post a pic when I get home, Happy festive fun to yo ho ho all
  16. Hi Guys, wanted to say how happy I am with my recently aquired ex dem La Sala 2's They really do do that people in the room thing. Love them to death, by comparison conventional speakers seem lame. Although just wondered does anyone have any good tips on how to increase soundstage depth. Which components do you reckon contribute to this illusion the most, or is it all in the mind.
  17. Hi Dennie, Yeah I sort of got there I found that point the Toe in directly at the listener and sitting same distance as speakers are apart was the answer. Very Happy Bunny, keep wanting to have a listen to more stuff. But have a grumpy lady next door who does not appreciate my musical tastes. Who by the way include Joni Mitchell and Martha Wainright.,must be the volume. Tref
  18. Hi Guys, Took me a while to get my ex dem mk2 la Scalas up and running, Put them on 4" wooden blocks to get some sunlight on the new wooden floor But it was worth the wait, God knows what those people are on about this transparency lark. As far as I can hear, when it gets transparent it gets boring and uninvolving.(Avantgarde) So lets hear it for the lovely dynamics and the being there involvement. Especially with a bit of vinyl and you can see how it still wipes out cd. So I'm definitely happy with the best sound I've ever had, But any thoughts on how to tighten up the imaging, would be great or is it just that images are going to be bigger than usual.
  19. Flippin heck You even have bigger washing machines than us Brits
  20. Hi Gang, Supposed to pick up my La Scala II 's today Thought I had a big car but could only get one in without opening the roof. Now I know why you drive round in those pick up trucks all the time. Fantastic cherry finish though,Back on the road as soon as I recover from carrying them upstairs
  21. Yeah I know I'm just getting excited Picking them up tomorrow Probably getting a bit forum adicted
  22. Ok I've some ,old quad 11"s Audionote kit one, and Unison simply 845's Anyone tried these in combo with La scalas Is there a killer match up
  23. Not Forgetting Canada, Where my favourite singers and bands come from, and the place I'd most like to see
