  1. Ha! Thanks-my degree is infosystems management (systems analysis/programming) but what my glorified title means at work is that I support at the table and sometimes code level a set of accounting/cash management/land management programs written for county assessors and treasurers. Our old app is a weak relational database written in something called Smartware from about 15 years ago, and our new one is all Sql Server 2008 based and MS.net. So I get to support both, fixing broken stuff, T/Sing reports and fields, and sometimes procedurally helping some official that call and can't manage to drive the program via the menu. I wear about 5 hats, but I actually don't have do a lot of the mundane case-ing, and actual analysis, except for SQL efficiency. Thanks for the list! Ill get to digging! CAS cedrics@gmail.com
  2. techno- Can you PM or email me a list of other artists that dabble in world music, fusion, and ambient? I really like the style, especially at work (system analyst, stare at code and specs all day) and the samples Ive listened to from what you listed so far have me kind of turned on to 2. Banco de gaia sounds awesome, as does Juno Reactor and Shpongle. Do you have any more suggestions?
  3. If at some point I wanted to remove the earpieces (hooks) from my Custom 2's, would that compromise the earphones at all, or not be advised? I like them a lot, but im still getting used to the ear pieces. My S4's just float in my ears and I can just pull out an earpiece if I need to, and would like to know if I converted these to the same if I would be endangering them. Thanks! CAS
  4. Kind of a bummer, that Klipsch case is pretty nice. I think those that are storing their player and their HP in the case are probably not using an ipod in there (at least not full size), thought the case is just the right size for my Touch-just what to do with the headphones. :-)
  5. How do you store your Custom 2's in the case with a player without smashing them? Im using a Ipod Touch and, to me, it seems dangerous to carry it in the case with the headphones. Thoughts?
  6. The S4's disappear, almost literally into my ginormous ears. I have to fish them out via the cables because there is no real tactile gripping surface on the body of the IEM. Is there, in the future, any thoughts on adding any grip to the bodies? For the now term, am I risking my warranty by pulling them out at the cable join on the IEM? Thanks! CAS
  7. Cool-thanks. I was just sticking them on any old way.
  8. I have a pair of Custom 2's on the way. I LOVE my S5's. In the last two weeks Ive had Shure SE115 and UE SuperFi 4's and Sony MDR-ex300's, and I keep coming back to yours. I keep two pairs of ears-1 for home and 1 for work, and since I'm in a position where I could be testing/coding for hours OR have to pick up the phone every 1/2 hour to talk with clients aabout support issues, I have to have earphones that are comfortable and not a PITA. The Shure's are a pain to fit, the Sony's have a lousy warranty but fit well, the UE's have warranty issues with logitec supporting them. These S4's just 'work'. That being said, im curious-do I have to consider orienting the gel on the earpiece up or down (horizontal or vertical) to mimic the shape of my ear canal, too? Since the gels are oval shaped, it would stand to reason that figuring out what orientation my ear canal was would more match up the shape of the gel and thus fit/sound 'better', though I can't imagine what that would 'not' feel like. I can't feel them in now. I keep reading that the 2's are "hard to fit" so even though I got a great price (From an AD) I hope I don't have to fiddle with them too much. In the regular product lineup, these were still a step up above the s4's, correct?
  9. I interpret flooded as the same sound my Sony EX300s currently make-on certain songs they are okay, but for most of them it sounds like someone singing via a coffee can through a pillow. There is no clarity to the mids and highs.
  10. I would suspect that the warranty only covers sales by licensed dealers-I buy a lot of watches and Seiko won't cover a grey market watch any more than Sony will.cover a grey market pair of earbuds. (*grrrrrrr.......mdr-ex300s......*) Im new here, though, so Klipsch may very well have one of those 'we'll cover it if our name is on it" warranty's that are very rare today.
  11. I also have a full replacement set of flanged L that that are still too small for my freaking huge ears-1 pair, worn once for size, and sterilized. I kept the L starter pair and ordered my own set of L. I figured I could save someone a few bucks in shipping/whatnot and ordering. If this is the wrong place to post this, Ill move it. If it's okay, PM me and we'll talk. Thanks! 1 pr S ear gels 1 pr S flanged gels 1 pr M gels 1 PK L flanged gels.
