  1. Crossover = 90 Phase = 180 I got em stacked on top of one another and corner loaded. I also dont hear a difference between 60 and 90. Which setting is it better to have em on? With the phase set to 0 on both, they dont seem to be as loud and they bump a lil differently too. Having them on opposite phases dramatically reduces the output and I hear a lot more port noise. I dont think my settings count cos i got 4.1s.... sorry i forgot what the subject read oops .
  2. Guys let me tell you something, I read what everyone was saying about the SWS then i decided to order two of them. I also bought the 4.1 Monster Cable upgrade and it came out to about $330. I regretted it a lil bit cos of all that money but after hooking everything up and hearing the SWSs bump, OMG i do not regret ANYTHING. They are SOO f***ing LOUD i LOVE them. I just wanted to say how i felt about em and hear other people's opinions and experiences with the SWS. My power cable also seems to come out real easily, even after i plugged it in as hard as I can they still felt a lil loose... i dont know about that and i havent bumped em so much that the cables come loose (hehe good work Kellian Hex ). Haha im so GLAD that i invested in these speakers cos they are pissing my neighbors off a lot more now LOL. BTW, can someone please explain the frequency setting to me? I read about it in the manual but dont completely understand how it works. I have it on 90 right now with both subs set on phase 180. And i dont know if its my room or what but man when they are on 180 they bump CRAZY as HELL!! Mannn I cant wait till i get back home from school!
  3. Will the bass output be double as usual or what? I've been reading what ppl have been saying about the SWS but I dont wanna buy it and be like wtf this doesnt really help much. get my flow...?
  4. I got a set of 4.1s and i gotta admit the subwoofer bangs for its size but i want more bass . I always listen to rap songs with a lot of bass and at times i wish i had two 15" kicker solo barics in my room but thats kinda crazy. The new price on the SWS is great but is it worth getting that? The 4.1 sub woulda been great but for some reason the bass drops after like 5 seconds into a song with a lot of bass. I guess the amp doesnt wanna give too much power to the subwoofer cos then it'll overheat? I dont know much about how amps work and all but I dont like it when my 4.1 sub does that. Is there anyway to change that? If someone doesnt know what im talking about lol let me know. IF I do decide to get the SWS how should I hook it up?
  5. The second sub that n2v and pinipig523 are talking about, where can I get that? And how do I set it up so that it works with my 4.1s? Sorry im a newbie . Also, where should i point my port? I got lost in all those arguements.
  6. Hey guys, I just needed some help to decide where I want my sub to sit in my room and in what position and all that. It's currently in the corner of the room, with the port facing away from the wall with a distance of about six inches between the back of the sub and the wall, and the other wall is about a foot away from the sub, and that is the wall the 6 inch driver in the sub box faces. I want it in the position where id get the MOST bass out of it (I am not a bass junkie ). *NOTE - IM SORRY I PUT THE WRONG SUBJECT FOR THIS POST. OOPS!
  7. I did the tests they wanted me to do. I hooked up my speakers to the CD player and tried it and there was no loss of bass so I figured it was the sound card. Plus my friend just got a Audigy and he has the 4.1's so I'll be over there pounding music on his sound system . ------------------ ImpreSS with Impala SS
  8. hey justin_tx_16, Thanks for complementing my sound card but I don't know if you remember but I posted earlier about how I lose bass when I play bass songs. Like when I have the main and bass vloume up and play a song, the bass is loud for like three seconds and then goes down so it isn't that loud anymore. I know it's the soundcard so I thought that I'll stick the Acoustic Edge in my sis's or bro's comp and I'll get the Audigy. I figured the Audigy wouldn't have that problem. I don't know maybe I might buy the Audigy and see how it sounds. But then on the other hand if it sounds bad then I wouldn't know what to do then. Man only if somebody could solve my bass drop problem.... ------------------ ImpreSS with Impala SS
  9. Hello guys, I listen to alot of music that has alot of bass to it. I was pleased with my Philips Acoustic Edge until I discovered that it's not the best for muci. I have recently learned that the Sound Blaster Audigy is a real good soundcard for music. I was just wondering if anybody had this and how the bass sounded like with this soundcard. Even if anybody does not have the Audigy, can anybody tell me if they know how good it is with bass songs? ------------------ ImpreSS with Impala SS
  10. Well I can't really tell so I think that is the right position for the bass volume knob. Thanks for all your help. ------------------ ImpreSS with Impala SS
  11. Sorry i didn't answer your question. No, it doesnt get better later, it stays at the same bass volume. And the bass volume reduction is like as if I first had the bass nob on the control pod at the 3 o'clock position and blasted the song, the bass will reduce as if I moved the bass nob to the 11 o'clock position. ------------------ ImpreSS with Impala SS
  12. Well the bass isn't as strong as it is at first, like it was 1-2 seconds ago. If i haven't been using the sub for like maybe five mins, then i notice that bass reduction. And its not like the bass totally goes away, but it doesn't sound as strong as before, like two seconds ago. Can it be that the amp gives it a big burst of power at first and then goes back down ot like normal??? I dont know but I like it when its strong. Doesn't everybody?? ------------------ ImpreSS with Impala SS This message has been edited by fAt_sUnNy on 06-23-2002 at 09:55 PM
  13. Hello guys, I have the 4.1's by Klipsch and I like to play songs with alot of bass . Well I play a song on high volume with the bass turned up pretty high. At first for like three seconds the bass is really strong and then it gets a little weak. And the loss of the bass is noticeable only when the subwoofer hasnt been used for a while (like 5 mins). If I stop the song and then play it again right away it will still be weak, meaning that the bass reduction won't happen again. I have a feeling that this issue has been resolved already but still PLEASE help me out. And also, will the MONSTER CABLE fix this problem? ------------------ ImpreSS with Impala SS This message has been edited by fAt_sUnNy on 06-23-2002 at 09:46 PM
