Ya the PB 20 is on the shelf.. I agree, why wait? YMA just order 2 13s and enjoy. After enjoying mine a few days I think I'm gonna keep my plus 2, I can say Im satisfied ,,for now. lol
I was gonna go ck these dual 18s out. This dude owns a speaker company, and these are the pro-to unfinished. He said the subs are $20k for the finished product and claims best in the world that he knows of. His wholesale cost on the drivers he said like 2 grand each and each driver is over 100lbs. Rms 2000 watts 6000 watt peak. He said he has tried ever high to mid grade sub and nothing comes close ...hmmmm .

After you get the PB13 you will want to sell the plus 2 and get another 13.
Coll sounds good. Maybe I'll just go ahead with my order on a new PB13 Ultra in piano black then if what you're sayin is true it sounds like an upgrade that would make me happy. Unless I continue to wait for a B4 Plus to pop up? Or do I wait and see what SVS brings us new this summer in hopes of something better than the Ultra 13??????????

If your plus2 is in paino gloss black I'll consider takin it off your hands. Mine is in piano gloss black and would want them to match. So now that you've got the Ultra13 figured out how does it compare to your plus2? Does the Ultra now blow it outta the water?
Its the regular black finish. I wouldn't say blows it out of the water , PCU sounds better, more detailed and tighter .

The Anthem D1.. in the room correction feature. Im glad you recommended it, I love it!! Blows away a Cary 11 pre I sent back.

Notch filter in Anthem at 35 mhz -14 . What threw me off.. Plus 2 was so strong .. I guess its the difference in tuning or somthing but it really affected the PCU.

The A7 900 is a performer. down side is its fugly, HUGE and almost 400 lbs!

I have a B&K amp 200 watts per channel. Before that I was using a 150 watt per ch B&K avr. Not much step up in way of watts but I can tell the difference. There is more head room.
I dont know how you could test the amp? I know mine kicks *** very clean effort no distortion power. If your amp is good, you may be use to distortion, that may be why your gf gives you that look. A buddy the other day was blasting music thru his tv jamming a cd, it hurt my ears and his tv is what 15 watts per channel if that. My amp dont hurt my ears. Distortion is loud. Clean loud music you can carry on a conversation with someone next to you. If there's a problem I hope you get it figured out... B&K makes great amps imo...

If you find one let me know. Im going to email SVS and see if they can make me a plus 2.... who else makes somthing thats close to the plus 2 ? how would 2 Epiks compare?

Ya the plus 2 is the shit..I dunno why they changed it. To get this PC13 to perform a little.. I increased the sub calibration all the way up +10 then + plus 5 on the sub level '(on the fly setting) and sub gain at half !! plus 2 gain at only a quarter. If this amp isn't bad I will be shipping this 13 back. All the praise about the Ultras cant be about the way its performing for me.
Good luck finding a plus 2 I been looking 2 years nobody wants to ship and the closest I found was 1500 miles away .

Maybe I had a bad amp and just didn't know it. I doubt it though, as the amp could actually push the driver into bottoming out if I pushed it hard enough. I sent it back when I was still in my 30 day window.
What pre amp were you using?

I didn't look at the amps on the svs or the processor you are using but maybe between the 2 models an amp change was made and the gain structure between the 2 talk differently, maybe your processor has a low output voltage and the svs has a low input sensitivity. hopefully that makes sense.
Just my 2 sense. my PB13 U shakes my house with gain in the 10 o'clock posistion and the trim set to -8 in the pre.

I was telling tech support I had the gain up 3/4 he expressed dont go over half. I wasn't concerned because I don't think it can bottom out. When I expressed my concern about the PCU performance this is what he said. (((how did you give sub bottom out test?)))
The Gain settings have
nothing at
all to do with max output and a working PC13-Ultra is a great match for a
PB12-Plus/2. The Plus/2 will have a bit of an edge say from 40-60Hz, but
the
Ultra will match/exceed it overall particularly at the frequency
extremes. This
is especially true in the 16Hz tune where the Plus/2 is down to single
4” port.Based on your other
note about the
static it sounds like the amp is bad, so we’ll get a new amp out and
that
should bring the performance to the level you read about on the forums. J We’ll
include a return label, too, so you can just put the old amp in the new
box and
shoot it back to us.The static sound I hear with the calibration tone. Its not deep and robust like the plus2. PCU sounds like weak bass mixed with fm static noise.
I watched Terminator Salvation last night. There was a noticeable difference in more bass, but not what I was expecting. The PCU is giving me 2db more
from my measurement.

They are sending a new amp out. As it stands now it would take 2 Ultra 13s to match my plus 2. I hope its defective, if not I will be sending it back.

From what I read the PC Ultra 13 was better then the pb12 plus 2.?? SV told me it was a close match also. If this PC Ultra 13 isn't defective I will very disappointed. The plus 2 is way more dominant and powerful.
I dont see how one 13inch woofer could out do dual 12s or be close? I have my doubt on the PB 13 Ultra now.. which I was going to exchange for.

When I went to calibrate the Ultra to 73 db I had turn tone voulume to plus 3 and sub gain at half. My PB plus 2 is right next to it. Only a quarter gain and 0" on tone is needed to achive 73.
If I run seperate tones the plus 2 is 6 db or more louder then the ultra with only a quarter gain vs half gain on Ultra. I have 2 sub outs on my pre and I switched cables and still Ultra is weaker. I e mailed tech support

Continuing the threadjack theme... Dtel, I do have a 5 channel amp powering my front soundstage, do you think I should set my front speakers to "Large" in my Integra? The Outlaw pushes 165w/ch (real watts).

Give it a try, cant hurt, see what you think. I have a 200 wpc B&K 5 channel amp. I have RF7 and run mine on small. I thought big sounded good, sounds ok but crossed at 80 seems to sound better to me. The bass is smoother. I think the bass from the mains and sub dont mix well in my room. I thought big sounded good till I gave small a try . Try it and tell us what you think.

Looks like a nice sounding room. The other 2 speakers would be very quite and not worth it IMO. Since you are happy, leave it. or, add another sub, that would defiantly be an improvement you would notice.
