Went tonight to listen the CD-S300 amazing sound, really really good, but the store manager offer me for the same price a BD-A1060 Yamaha universal player Aventage serie? sound very good to and has a bypass so all electronic to video is turn off and it plays in cd mode? anyone knows this universal player, any comment?

oppo 203 is current version and on azon canada 1800$ for an oppo

sound like what i am looking for anyone try the usb dac playing?

marantz is philips high end...

Another inexpensive DAC, is the muse mini DAC nos tda1543, does a very good job and sold for 65$ on ebay... Or the FIIO DAC taishan, don't know the chip in there but was 45$ on mazone...

Yamaha the cdx series will last forever, the best of the best was a cdx1120 or 1020, aluminum tray, program cd that remember the cd and the program you choose. Sell it for peanuts bad move, but i was young!

Just put my hand on Pioneer PD91, huge, heavy build like a tank, will listen to it tonight or tomorrow Rega planet, yes i forgot that one, will look for one, thanks (spacious and musical, warm warm warm) So far modern CD players with there layers of oversampling and all gizmo, sound accurate but lack of warm sound. Since my wife, don't like me to store tons of lp's in our living room, i have to go streaming or CD's. For streaming, i have order and assemble an ebay chinese dac tda1541 with op amp. Sound great, but not as good as old cd player tda1540 or first sony 90017. For now, i listen my hitachi, more and more and as listen my cd's collection threw it before converting it with itunes and amazing is the world. i wish i am more good with programming, because i have good idea for software and those old cd's player and there very good DAC. Those old inexpensive CD player sound better than modern one. Also first all universal player sound good to!

Like the 74, who is a philips, for those who don't know during the process Philips bought marantz and then over the year transfer is technologie to marantz team the building of cd players. So basically, Marantz is philips audio with better look!

Good day, just bought a inexpensive CD player : Hitachi DA400, same chip as the Sony 100 1rst generation, very musical and 10$ As good as my philips 150 and 300 Well build and sound like vinyle Back then i guess first years many CD we're mainly build by sony or philips and since sony and philips want to give a chance to CD, there are many clones out there, not expensive reliable and musical to! Any other suggestion, i should look for? clone or the real thing in 198? something year of build Regards

ok thanks, i have done everything wrong, and found out, previous owners thorn the arm of the lens, and this causes all the problem. So i hope i could do a dac out of it now... or sell the chip on ebay.

Ok with a gustard(CMOS) u12 that proved coax signal, i should be able to connect to the dac directly in the philips cd350 in NOS, so where are the coax entry in the schematics is the question...

ok just switch transport with another philips the transport work fine in the other philips and in this one, well it is better, the previous owner put grease everywear, just finished cleaning everything. So all mecanical have been change and put the old mechanical in the other player and play well, so no lens and no mecanics, so it's like when in can oversampling or sort of thing like that it freeze, put one hugly scratch cd and track five it freeze but in the other the tda1541 no problemo, so mecanics not the problem, but thanks for the tips, i remove the extra grease when compare both transport. regards

Well some night it plays the Cd's and then not... i suspect the strength of the laser beam, on my old denon, you have a screw to upgrade the signal of laser, but on this one no clues? i have clean the lens twice, and this afternoon, would not play my Tord Gustavsen and tonight it played ok? but won't play Susan Tedeschi? strange thanks for the help anyhow And yes philips 350 30years old TDA1540, most vinyl sound for a CD and it's not even in NOS mode... Still no clue what this adjustment does?

Hi Kindly ask for help, my philips cd350 have trouble reading some CD, it start reading distord and stop? Does someone know someone who could explain to me what is the purpuss of this on my philips cd350? is it to increase beam? i could ad the free pdf, but not sure if it's allowed? regards

Forte II are 4 Ohms or 8 Ohms? i have a CAV50, should i had it to 4 Ohms instead of factory 8 Ohms? if so how to i proceed? Also Forte II, better in pentode or triode? and how i change my CAV50 to go triode or verify it? thanks for all the help you could provide Regards
