bought the 4.1's two days ago and they sounded awesome the first two days and went to work on the third day came home put on some tunes around one quarter the way up and sub around half and suddenly noticed a crackling and hiss out of the sub and horn tweeters ...... sounded terrible checked everything when discovering the sub was very hot to the touch and the sound was sick ....i put my lab tech back on and they sounded better then the 4.1's..... was very up on these speakers until nowand am very disappointed in them ...when they work it was excellant highs and thump and now they suck...... tryed all things , running sb live x-gamer and know about all the settings and technics for good sound .... must have been a bum pair . if anyone has had any same results what did you do ...mine went back so it will be three weeks before i see them again boo hoo...

just got my promedia 4.1 and for the fist 2 days sounded excellent using sound blaster live x-gamer card.... when i got in from work and booted the computer the sounded good for a few minutes and then they started hissing and crackling and sounds terribl....I've never pushed these speakers . thought one quarter to half was plenty felt the sub and it was very hot to the touch this isnt normal and should i send them back?????????????? ------------------ kevin cormack
