  1. I use my x5s and x10s a lot and only ever had the feeling I need to clean them once. The method I used was just place them in a sink of water, pour some soup in there, and rub them for a bit. Then fetch them out and drain out the water. Another tip would be just use cotton swabs every once in a while just to clean the gunk out of your ears. Hope that helps and happy listening
  2. I would like to know too! The S5i looks really rugged, do you think they use new cables for it? Anyhow, I still think the white one looks the best The S3 might replace the the S2 but who know? I wonder if they'll use the same electronics, but change the housing, now with new colours! I also want to try out the new on-ears, should be a very interesting thing hearing the Klipsch sound from a pair of cans. I hope they come out with something new for the higher end headphones/earbuds. Would be cool to add to my x10/x5 collection
  3. As many have noticed, the Klipsch x10s have a strain relief issue that I am not sure have been resolved yet but I suppose not considering the replacement pair I just received seems to be made out of the same material as the original that had split. My former pair that I returned had super glue on it when the strain relief did split because I had read from an old post on this site that there would be no warranty returns on these headphones because of the strain relief since it is only a cosmetic issue. About a year later and I hear that people get refunds on their x10s for the strain relief giving way so I did so too. I now have a new pair of x10s but I was wondering if I could reinforce the strain reliefs so I don't have to return them over and over again because obviously, the warranty will not last forever. I was thinking of using a piece of heat shrink wrap right over the strain reliefs. I was wondering if this would void the warranty too. I'm hoping to hear from a Klipsch specialist/employee him/herself before I try this. Obviously, anyones opinion, thoughts, experience, etc. are warmly welcomed as well. Thanks in advance!
  4. I still keep my Klipsch headphones in the little leather Klipsch box that came with my x10s It's just how you put it in. I wrap the end around the cord and then put it in the box so the cord does not get lost somewhere in the box. Just wondering... but does anyone know where to get a thinner profile case too? It would be very convenient to be able to put my headphones in my pocket without a lump sticking out. Thanks
  5. Cool. I got bored and I tried it and it worked decently well. The bad part though is that I would like to use my headphones outside as well so I don't think this is gonna work that well for me. Thanks for your input though!
  6. I have searched all over the web and I was wondering if there is a good way to wrap headphones. What I have been doing for years now is wrap my headphones in a loop and then curl the last last 2 inches around the wrapped wire to hold the wrap secure. I would like to say that I have never in my life caused a wire to malfunction due to my wrapping technique, but I would also say that with certain headphones, there are kinks in the last 2 inches I wrap around the cable to keep it together. Online, the only ones I can really find are the 2 finger figure 8 method and the wrap around iPod technique. I do not like either techniques because they both look like they will cause more kinks than my current technique. Does anyone have a headphone wrapping technique that causes absolutely no kinks in the wire that they would like to share? Thanks!
  7. Are these the first headphones you have ever used on your phone? Have you ever tried any other pair of headphones on your phone? I'm not sure, but I would doubt that it is specifically the Klipsch branded headphones your phone is rejecting. You should try other headphones and see if those work too. I would guess that your phone might be like mine which has a manufacture fix on it that makes it confined to only allowing specific product upgrades. Some companies use this tactic to make more money from you by making you buy their accessories.
  8. Thanks Hammy! I think I am going to call Klipsch to see if I can get a replacement pair soon! I was also wondering... has anyone actually thought of a way to increase the durability of the strain reliefs? I was thinking maybe using some heat shrink tubing to cover the strain relief as I have heard that body oils could be a factor to the strain relief depleting. It would also increase the thickness of it in general, making it harder for it to rip. Has anyone tried doing this before? Is it a good idea? For one, most people I know use a lighter to shrink heat-shrink-tubing. I heard you can also use a blow dryer to shrink it too which is probably not as bad. I would be concerned though that the ear pieces may be effected by the heat and result in a malfunction internally. I am also open to any other ideas for people who have tried to increase the durability of their headphones BoBeRz3
  9. I have been using my awesome Klipsch x10s for almost a year and 4 months now and I have to say, I love them a lot! I have used them very frequently, yet I was always very careful with them. During it's usage, I have found a couple issues listed in the other forums and tried to fix them myself. There was first the slits on the strain relief of the ear pieces. I did a decent job fixing it with some good old super glue. Now, there is a tear on the cable, right beside the left ear piece and I am very scared that the left ear piece might come right off the cable. Not only that, but the strain relief on the left ear piece seems to be deteriorating entirely and that makes me super scared that these things might bust. At the moment, I strictly use these headphones at home because of the fear of the headphones being nonoperational. I live in Canada and was wondering if the warranty covers this and if there is a way to fix my x10s so I can take them outside again without being scared that these headphones might die on me. Many thanks!
