While visiting the local pawnshop I noticed a pair of 3.5s sitting next to some Polk speakers. This particular pair of Polk speaker had 4 midrange drivers, one tweeter and some kind of foam woofer. When I inquired about the price of the 3.5s the salesman responded by "Polk is better than Klipsch". Well I knew I had to put his opinion to the test...lol. We hooked one of each speaker to a Onkyo receiver which put out about 80 watts. He then loaded a George Strait CD into the disc changer and proceeded to turn up the volume. He reached about 11 O'clock and then the Polk speaker had a bout with flatulence...lol. As the Polk stuttered along the 3.5 sang right along with Ol George. Much to his embarrassment he then quietly turned down the volume without saying a word. Needless to say the store had the 3.5's way overpriced at $450 so I left only with a good laugh.

Told my brother once that Bose sounded better because the sound bounces off of the wall.Upon hearing this he cranked up the volume of his Heresys and said " There, now the sound is bouncing off of your head"
LOL

Nothing like hearing an ungrilled Klispch Speaker Rock.- IMO
What do you like most?
-
PWard,
Does that apply to powering down as well?
-
Which should you power on first, the amp or the pre amp?
Why does this make a difference?
Thanks

The room is 20x20 with concrete below. Will an equalizer help or will it cause the woofer to distort at high volumes?

How can one get more bass out of these beauties?
These are the older ones keep in mind.
Were they simply not engineered to have bass?

My brother owns a pair of 1969 Heresys and they still rock the house.I have'nt heard the Heresy 2 though.I my opinion the Heresy I is worth 500 clams.
-
I'm in the process of constructing a 30 by 30 room strictly for my home theater.I've been sooo temped on Ebay by all of the Khorn specials and such.$3000 clams is a steal for these legends of sound.Christmas never looked so better.

I'm a fellow horn lover like you gents.I fell in love with the Klipsch sound in a pawn shop.It was a pair of Kg1.2s who i fell for.4 months later it was the ol Heresy who did the trick.I tell you fellows i was in heaven.I told my wife that was the end of my journey.
Little did i know a man i call Frank.Truthfully it was what my brother called my speaker because of its appearance.I'm talking about the brute force of the Forte'II.The sound is so slamming to the eardrum when i gave it 11:00.I mated them with the TFM 35x i won off Ebay and boy do they rock!Back to the question at hand.Do i skip Chorus'II s and go straight for Khorns?
