  1. No longer needed thanks - one of my friends was over and we were listening to music and I gave him a fair price on the Heresy and he wants to slowly rebuild and ordered Crites woofer replacements - everyone is happy and he has his first pair of Klipsch!

Thanks always for the great guidance and reach out!

  2. I sold these to this guy many years ago and noticed he has one listed on FB marketplace - they are walnut oiled located in Portland Maine.. so for New England folks maybe opportunity to have as a center channel for other KG...

Not affiliated just passing along - he doesn't seem to have these listed on CL so if someone has interest glad to reach out on behalf and connect the two of you.

    Thanks! James

See, I ahould have joined the forum earlier. This weekend I finally got my cambrodge audio axr100 and determined very quickly that something was wrong with the tweeters. Sure enough previous owner superglued 4 ohm pyle bookshelf tweeters to the horn. It was all squaker. More than usual lol. Amp only plays nice with 8 ohms. Already ordered some tweeters. Had i known about the h3 kit, I would have considered. The plan was to keep the price down as the cabinets are not exactly perfect.

Did not work out so well. Plus I have already changed the caps. Appreciate the advice though

Thanks I've heard good things about the H3 upgrade, at this point looking for inexpensive fix to get them going as-is.

    Yup! Let us know!

GREAT NEWS! the dust cap on the offending woofer was hanging on by a thread - I took it out today cleaned it up and re-glued will wait 24 hours to test but looks promising. The other woofer dust cap was also starting in one spot to come off so I carefully took an exacto and took that one off and glued that one as well.

Hi. Just a quick thought—did you check if the dust cap was 100% sealed and seated? Sometimes all it takes is a little inconspicuous section to become unglued and hover just proud of the woofer, creating a rattle noise during excursion.

Great tip - I had that happen on my Forte's years ago and didn't remember that until you mention it. I will definitely take a look and see! Wouldnt that be great if that were it!

LOL yes a pool in Maine! House came with a nice inground pool - we use it heavily June-August and then its just too cold at night to maintain the temp.... it wouldn't be a good investment but where the house had one we do enjoy it!

Also I have not yet found one! I also see you are from Ooltewah! I have worked for Unum for 20 years and I've been to Chattanooga hundreds of times - lovely area!

Find one yet? I’ve been either looking for another one to make a pair or parting with the one I have.  Probably time to do the later since I’ve had this one for a while.

You have a pool in MAINE, Isn’t that about the coldest place on the planet?  lol

  8. Hello -

Recently acquired a project pair of H2, they are walnut oiled - they were original owner but I don't believe they were ever dusted or cleaned well. I am trying to inexpensively and slowly refurbish them for my teenage son and set them up in our basement.

One of the woofers had a small tear, I am trying to glue/patch, but would prefer to replace it if anyone had a "spare" in stock they were willing to part with for reasonable (knowing it would have to be shipped to Maine).

I will also eventually replace the grill cloth and replace the caps as funds allow.

    Thanks in advance!

    James

  9. Thank you for the suggestions - what I left out was budget is also a constraint so even the extra $100 for new xovers vs. rebuild makes a difference right now... may just need to live with the down time and send my OEM in to Crites for rebuild. THank you and Happy Holidays!

  10. Zero handy/electrical skills - would like to find a low cost means to refresh the crossovers in my beloved Chorus II's - I was going to send them in to Crites for rebuild but with the hassle of shipping time etc... trying to see if anyone may have a pair of used Crites crossover boards or rebuilt crossovers collecting dust?

  11. Greetings - recently went through divorce and due to situation need to settle bills and downsize. I am keeping a couple of setups including my Chorus 2's - but a few items I need to part with - would do a package deal and would meet within reasonable distance within New England for forum members.

    1. Klipsch Heresy (1) HBR - these have a medium stain I am 2nd owner, there are a couple of smaller chips in veneer which I've taken close ups of. All original drivers and I replaced the crossovers with complete new units from Bob Crites - they sound excellent. Asking $450

    2. Rotel RX-1050 Receiver - 2nd owner on this as well - this is 100x2 clean power very solid and hefty unit - all functions as expected the only thing I've never tested or tried is the FM functionality as I don't have the right adapter to connect an antenna and I also rarely listen to radio. I have the original remote and manual no packing for it. Would consider shipping if someone willing to pay packaging cost + shipping cost. Asking $175

    3. Rotel RCD-970BX - 2nd owner - this in great functional and cosmetic condition, well regarded and solid unit. THis had an issue with the tray opening/closing and it was sent to Rotel to have the gear wheel replaced which is a common issue on these. Asking $125

    4. Project Carbon Debut DC - this is approx 1 year old in near mint condition. I recently replaced the original cartridge with an Ortofon 2M Silver that I purchased from a forum member (which was pulled from a Project TT with just a few hours and he upgraded to a bronze). Added the "Q-up" which is installed currently - have all packing materials, manuals, etc... Asking $325 (Local Sale Possibly pending)

Any questions - just ask. I've taken a stab at asking prices based on what I saw with some searches - if I am way off show me and I'll be glad to discuss.

    Thanks, James
