  1. You want to investigate into Meridian (especially 805.24) and Rega brands.
  2. I failed to notice the impendance of Promedia satelites on Klipsch website but i will believe you guys, 6 Ohm it is o/ I wonder what it would be like to connect Forte II as front Left and Right and, say, KV3 as centre to the Bash sub box;
  3. Seriously. Rega Uranus must be such a rare model even Google did not return any search results! Is it a custom unit?! As for my new system - pretty much decided to order tweeters and crossover rebuild kit from mr. Crites; for now just mostly fooling about with speaker positioning - i do not know if i ever get that right in the loft. Looking into replacing my current awesome £10 interconnects from Sony high street shop with some VDH or similar. Also noticed that i am only using a fraction on Croft Micro 25 volume knobS, it's output appears to be a bit high for my Quads and Fortes.TheQuads run quite hot, i only assume that's normal - never had any valve gear before; previous owner mentioned that Quads must be earthed; i did not notice any Earth bindings on Quads; i also assume that should be covered by the interconnects; Thanks for your input and ideas
  4. Thanks, thebes; I did think about Fortes guts; i am second owner and i know that first owner was using them very rarely - and i thought that caps would not have degraded much; thanks for pointing out that they get worse not with usage but with time instead; i will have a look at this and do some more research and reading; i might end up replacing them and maybe even crossovers; as to TT, i have quite a few CDs and zilch LPs, and hardly any room to store heavy piles of records.. which is a shame, as i like listening to them at my friends from time to time; Regards
  5. I am looking to upgrade my old Rega Planet CDP, but lack opportunities to audition those two CDPs on my system (Croft 25 Micro, Quad II blocks, redone by Croft to use EL34 outputs and stock Klipsch Forte II; i might be missing another way to make the system sound even more enjoyable for me, i would be grateful if someone would point it out, i might be missing something that is obvious to experienced listeners who have opportunities to hear many different audio units; also would love to hear opinions about Rega Saturn or Meridian 508.24 or any other comparable players at similar price; Regards p.s. i listen to very wide range of music from heavy rock and roll to classic, from old jazz to folk
  6. Hi; I have Quad II monoblocks as amp and quite battered Forte II pair (2nd hand Klipsch is hard to come by here in UK); i am looking for a source, will porbably go for cd for now; i listened to Naim CD5ia while ago and was very impressed by it's sound, however, with that i would probably need separate preamplifier; on the other hand, if i used something like Shanling CD-T100c, i expect it's valve output stage would do a gread job as a preamp for Quads? Just assembling my first stereo system and doing alot of reading, just looking for a tad of reassurance from experienced owners of Klipsch; maybe someone had experience with both of these sources and could compare? Thanks
