  1. Depends on which network you have. The cap value would about double with a 6 db network. A or AA. I'm sure the impenance isn't exactly half, but that would ballpark it If youhave a K-55 to reference against, just put the 1824 on one side, and adjust cap and autoformer taps to match , playing the mids only.. I'll try to dig out my old settings and see what I came up with, it's been several years. I've always used resistor networks for attenuation, however.
  2. I tend to agree. (Compare the two on a "transparent horn ", and you will hear quite a difference. The subtleties get buried with the K-400 IMHO) I'm also sure there are those who disagree.
  3. Make sure the drone cone on the back is in good shape. Low frequency transients can make them crack if the surround is bad.
  4. here is a photo although it may be difficult to see.
  5. Love them, espcially with the DJK mod.. It "relaxed out" some of the upper bass nasties. I have the old k33 and i've always measured a rise in the bass system. I compensated in the crossover. Works fantastic for me. 1974 seems to be a time when PWK was messing with that area of the LS What would be interesting if someone could build their splitter up and compare.Mine looks difficult to tear out I have a pic of the throat around...I'll post it later. Thanks for the input!
  6. I have 1974 LScala's.For some reason they have a larger splitter than the ones I've seen on the forum.I always thought they reduced the size when they moved the doghouse door to the bottom. See the accompanying drawing. They dont look modified at all. Feedback?
  7. I think this was made in the 70's by Showco, and it was called the Prism.
