  1. Ive been listening to Kitaro for an hour after posting this "review" and man I cant believe how good these tweeters sound. This mod has really made my music sound "live". Its going to be hard for me to swap to the tv to watch the Falcons whoop up on the Rams
  2. I have a set of chorus I speakers as the mains in my HT setup running on my onkyo nr-tx3007. it is 140wpc. I had read that these speakers love power even though they can play loudly with very little. I decided to read the manual and bridge the power to the chorus Is. the manual said that bridging gives nearly double the power so I figured maybe it is now outputting 200wpc to the chorus speakers. What i immediately noticed is that they sounded less distorted when played at a loud volume level. i also noticed a lot more difference between the loudest and softest parts of music. I think thats called dynmics but not sure. either way it was worth the few minutes to do it and I now have a clearer more robust sound.
  3. I say use whatever you have to get 5.1 You can always upgrade each speaker as money allows. 5.1 in movies makes them a totally new experience if you've just been hearing them in stereo
  4. I use the audysee on my Onkyo tx nr-3007. I flip it on/off while listening to music and it always sounds better with the audysee on. it seems it brings out more sounds. I still have the Klipsch sound but you can hear that the frequency response is flatter with it on.
  5. I am NOT an audiophile.....just a regular guy so please dont beat my post to death. I ordered the crites DIY crossover kit and titanium tweeters for my chorus I speakers. After soldering the new caps I didnt notice any difference. While i do have perfect hearing (according to my Costco hearing screening) I may not have known what to listen for. I didnt listen to them like this but for 3 minutes so maybe thats why or maybe my crossovers were still within spec. At least i know they are quality caps that should give me many years of great sound. Now I HAD to get those tweeters in since I had heard everyone say there was an audible difference in them. Well, there IS. My highs dont seem as harsh. I also noticed a few new...sounds, instruments or whatever in my music. I had read people say they were smoother than the original tweeters. I wasnt quite sure what that meant but now I am. Its like everything blends better. The highs sound like they have more bass or texture or something. Im sorry i dont know the proper terms but the tweeters were an upgrade that i would recommend to even the regular guys. The crossover kits requires a little skill. if you OWN a soldering iron then I think you can do it. Mine could be prettier but they are functional and in the box so its not like anyone can see them anyway. The tweeters were easy to swap. 4 screws to remove it from the box....3 nuts to remove the "horn" from the magnet and then you just swap the diaphragms. VERY easy to do. I recommend the tweeter mod for anyone as its stupid easy and a nice sound upgrade.
