  1. Indeed I am talking about the spider. The surrounds are just fine, although one had duct tape residue that had to be cleaned off. Thanks for the tip on the glue I'll get some of that it should fit the bill perfectly. I went and purchased some more mdf today to remake the back plane (Not sure what the correct term is) as the old ones were too badly water damaged. I used one of the old ones as a template for the port and terminal block holes. I was going to sand and restain them at first but the wood it just to splothcedy (lol think i just invented a word there) so I am going to sand them and use a textured spray paint and then put on a clear coat to seal it. They should look fine when im done. Ill get some pictures and post them.
  2. Hi all I bought a pair of KLF10 not realizing they were in such terrible shape; much repair needed. I have a question regarding the woofers. on all 4 woofers the spider is either partially or all the way unglued. Other than that they are working fine. What glue would you recommend to re-glue the spider? I have my work cut out for me though. The cabinets are in such sad shape I may have to remake them altogether. One of the xovers PCB was broken clean in 2 (Not sure how that happened but some simple soldering will fix that) the motor boards are completely loose and will have to be re-glued as well as the back boards. The cabinets have also taken water damage. Should be a fun little project. Any way let me know what you think on the glue for the woofers. Also what glue would you recommend for reattaching the motor boards? Liquid nails perhaps? or some kind of rubber cement? I may take some pics and post of the sad shape they are in. and then my finished repair job. Thanks
  3. I really lucked out this Christmas. I live in Texarkana which is about 30 miles form Hope Arkansas where Klipsch was founded. Any way a local boutique shop that carry's Klipsch Reference had 2 RB-61's left in stock and was trying to get rid of them since the RB-61II's are out and so he sold me the pair of 61 for $299 OMG. He then sold me a pair of RS-10 for $199. I have hooked all this up to my PC and replaced the Logitech z5300 set up i had. I have a 10 year old Advent center channel that I will replace with a RC-42II as soon as i have the cash for it. Then New egg had the RW-12d sub for $359 which I replaced my main HT sub a BIC America H-100 and moved the BIC to my PC to replace the Logitech sub i had rigged up. My PC has a Creative Labs X-FI sound card and so my music, games and movies have never sounded better. I have gone back and played through several of my games because of the new set up.I am herring detail i never herd before. Any way I am so happy with all my bargains as it has let me own things I would not have previously owned due to price. On my main HT set up Best Buy on black Friday had their Klipsch Icon-V floor standing speakers for Half off, and when you bought the center channel the VC-25 they were giving the rear surrounds the VS-14's for FREE. I bought the VF-35's and could not be happier I got the whole surround set up for $711 which the VF-35's retail for more than than that when at full price. The new HT speakers have made a HUGE difference for my wife who has bad hearing and we almost always have to have the close captioning on or she is constantly asking me what they said. With the new set up she can hear every thing that is said.I know that the Icon V series is their lowest line but they sound terrific compared to what i had. One thing that i was very surprised at was how much bass the RB-61 put out i was truly shocked as they vibrated the floor! Any way I'll stop my gushing. I just felt like sharing my Happiness with all the good folks on the forums.
  4. To answer PSG question it is a house and my neighbors a good 100' on one side and 6 acres on the other. I will be soon (Hopefully by Christmas) putting in the Klipsch RB-41 II Home Theater System. I have always wanted a set of Klipsch Reference speakers ever sense I herd them demoed at a store in Hot springs AR. I only live 30 min. form Hope where Klipsch was founded. any way I currently have a set of Advent speakers also bought at Sams Club when I bought the KLH sub. They are ok but no where near the level of the Klipsch reference speakers. O and for got It will be a mix of music and movies and loud is not that important to me just sound quality. I am really excited to be upgrading my center channel as my wife is kind of hard of hearing so she always turns up the movies REALLY loud so she can hear what they are saying but the new center channel should help with that.
  5. Hey guys thanks for the suggestions. However life gets in the way with bill and such so my budget shrank on me. However I decided to go with this sub http://www.bicamerica.com/showpage.php?brand=2&type=8&spkrID=121 BIC/Acoustech H-100 I found it while looking for reviews on the Klipsch subs and it gets really good reviews. IT retails for 499 but overstock.com had it for 225 and a buck for shipping. This is going to replace a 10 year old KLH 12" sub I got a Sams Club. It was never a very good sub and it finally gave out on me. The sub was bad enough that ANY thing I get would be an improvement lol. Any way the sub should be here next week I will post back when it arrives and let you guys know how it goes.
  6. Hi all I am gettign ready to buy a new sub and am unsure which sub to go with the SW-450 or the SW-110 they both have similar specs and so I am unsure which to pick. they are both 10 inch subs and same power handling and same range. I have carpited floors if that makes any diference sence the sw-450 is down firing. the room is about 15 x 20. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Gerald
