  1. I am now using a mm-2000 set, and I think I have to agree that the sound is clearer and more defined than my klipsch set (my klipsch set did have some static though). Anyways, an important thing to note is that the mm2000 is not underpowered - it has 340W total. The biggest differences are probably the crossover (b/c of the flat panel design the subs handle anything under 200hz) and the increased directionality of the flat panel sats. Did I mention you can get them for $200 @ CompUSA? I would recommend them for anyone who wants klipsch-like sound at 66% the price and doesn't need a true 5.1 setup. Most reviews I've seen rate the monsoon mm2000 about the same as the 4.1s. Jacob
  2. I just bought the Klipsch 4.1s for $280 from outpost. I could return them to wait on the 5.1s I guess, but a) I don't watch DVDs I set up my system generally in cramped conditions (ie dorm room) where I don't know if I could really fit a center channel in niceley. c) Volume/Power/Wattage wise the Klipsch 4.1s can already go up to "too loud" I don't need the 5.1s for that. Does anyone think it is worth my hassle and $150 more (shipping) to get the 5.1s? If so, why? Thanks, Jacob
  3. sweet! Good idea! I'll try it right now, thanks! Jacob
  4. Two questions on my otherwise perfect 4.1s: 1) Sometimes, for reasons I cannot determine, the left channel (front and back, not the cables or the satellites, checked by switching) emits fairly audible crackling and hissing. My guess is electrical maybe, but I don't know how to check or if my unit might be bad. 2) I think I accidentaly "dimpled" one of my sattelites: I lightly tapped the center of the speaker (some sort of cardboard I guess) and it caved in partially. Is there any way to pop it back out, and/or will it affect the satellites audio performance? Before: ( ( ) **** ) ) <---------- center ) ) *** ( ( Now: ( ( ) **** ) ( <---------- center ) ) *** ( ( Thanks! Jacob
