  1. Have a KSW-15 subwoofer that needs a new power cord. Thought it to be a very simple project, but then I pulled off the plate amp. At each connection where there is likely to be tension from outside the amp, there is a dollop of brown glue/epoxy to stabilize the point. This gave me pause because I'd just like to do this right. My questions are... What is this stuff? What is the best way to remove it from the power cord area? What is the best way to replace it? What to replace it with if the exact equivalent is not readily available? Also, my intention was to replace the original 9' 18 gauge power cord with a 12' 16 gauge power cord. After pulling off the plate amp, I can see no reason not to do this. However, if someone knows this to be a bad idea, I'm all ears as to why. Thanks

At each connection where there is likely to be tension from outside the amp, there is a dollop of brown glue/epoxy to stabilize the point. This gave me pause because I'd just like to do this right and not comprimise the amplifier. My questions are... Before proceeding, cold someone please let me know what this stuff is exactly? What is the best way to remove it from the power cord area? And what is the best way to replace it? It is there for a reason - so when the cord is pulled it will not put tension of the circuit boards. And what to replace it with if the exact equivalent is not readily available? Also, it was my intention to replace the original 18 gauge cord with a 16 gauge cord of the same length. After removing the back plate, I see no problem with this, but if anyone knows of a good technical reason not to, I'm all ears. Thanks
  3. Trying to replace and power cord for a KSW-15 subwoofer. Some critter knawed on it and the previous owner put electrical tape over the damage. It works fine but I'd like to replace the cord. Pulled the plate amp off to expose the internal connections and there is this brownish glue over many of the connections. Can anyone tell me what this stuff is and the best way to remove and then replace it? Original was an 18 gauge zip cord, moving up to 16 gauge zip cord.
