  1. That's pretty much my plan. I may use the Adcom 2535 bridged on one side to drive a sub and the other side to drive 4 surrounds since they present a 4 ohm load

    Upgrade

I am now using a Carver CT-17 Dolby ProLogic preamp and Adcom 2535 and 535 amps (approx 60 watts/channel) in my bedroom system. I am wanting to upgrade so I can benefit from newer technology of HDMI and the newer processors.I have a new Pioneer VSX-1120 receiver in my living room system that really sounds great and has all of the bells and whistles I could think of. I can probably buy a new receiver with preamp outputs much cheaper than finding a new preamp with the features I want.May even buy another Pioneer 1120 just like my other, or maybe a Marantz SR5005, Yamaha RX-V667, or Onkyo TX-NR708 or something along those lines. I am wondering if it will sound better with the increased power using the onboard amps in the receiver or if there would be any advantage to me utilizing the Adcom amps?
  3. Found me a KV-3 in Garage Sale section of the forum. It's on the way.[]
  4. I realize most here will think very unpleasantly of me, but on a whim, I decided to try a home-built solution for my center channel. I bought a couple of Peerless 6 1/2" woofers and had a Dayton 1 1/8" silk dome tweeter and a 2,000 hz crossover left over from a previous project. Fabricated an enclosure for all and the results are surprisingly very favorable. The DIY speaker is really an extremely nice match for the Klipsch inwalls and blends well with my Boston VRS surrounds. This is the best my Center setup has ever sounded and will be very easy to live with while I look around for a KV-3 or whatever to purchase.Who knows, I may even be disappointed changing again?
  5. Thanks for the info. That will give me something to work with.
  6. What is a fair price for a KV-3 or a pair of KG-2.5 speakers?
  7. Thanks. Just wanted to know for future reference.
  8. Does anyone know the model numbers of the drivers used in the old Klipsch IW-250? I can't seem to find anything on them.
  9. What about a KV-2 or KV-3? KG-2.2?
  10. WOW! That was quick! Thanks. I'll look around.
  11. I'm new here and I have IW-250 speakers in my bedroom and would like to replace the Yamaha center channel speaker I use now with something better. I know it's probably discontinued, but what is the correct match for the IW-250 speakers?
