    Side surrounds

Okay, thanks guys. But if surround speakers are meant to be on the side walls facing each other, then why do some people have them on the rear walls facing towards the main speakers? I guess it is just preference?
  2. Now that many people have told me that your surround speakers SHOULD be placed on the side walls facing each other, I have another question: When surround effects come in, won't it sound a bit weird that the rear sounds are coming from the sides? And what about the people sitting in FRONT of the side surrounds, will it sound okay for them?
  3. Don't you think the Rx-7s are pretty expensive, especially the RF-7s? I mean the RF-3s are $800 and the RF-5s are $1500. But the RF-7s have a huge jump to $2200. OUCH! I mean you could get a whole setup (center, surrounds, mains) from the Rx-3s or you could get JUST the RF-7s for nearly the same price. Just a thought.
  4. Well, I hear a lot of people talking about Monster Cables. Which Monster Cables do you recommend?
  5. Okay, I know this is a very VERY dumb question, but what the heck. I have NO experience with Home Theater systems, and my question is that when I buy the speakers, so they come with the wires I need to connect them to the receiver?
  6. Kick ***! That means that it will be much easier for me to setup the surround speakers if they actually sound better on the sides.
  7. Two days ago, I phoned the Klipsch dealer here in Dubai, UAE. I asked him if he had the RC-3, RF-3, and RS-3 speakers. He said that he has none at the moment because there is a new model coming and so he did not import the RF-3 line. He said that he would phone me when he has them. What is this new model? Could he mean the RF-7s?
  8. By the way, what are the features that the RX-V3000 has that the RX-V1 does not?
  9. How much does the RX-V1 cost? And how can the RX-V1 be their top-of-the-line when the RX-V3000 has features that the RX-V1 doesn't?
  10. Thanks man. I read your response and I have one more question: I can place the surround speakers behind me, but the both will not be in one line. Instead one speaker will be slightly behind the other. Will this be okay?
  11. Cool, thanks. But what about sound quality, is there a difference between the two when running DVDs and normal audio CDs?
  12. Will it be okay to place the surround speakers (RS-3s) parallel to the two SIDE walls so that they will be facing each other? I am asking this because I do not exactly have a rear wall available in my Home Theater room.

  14. Well? Since I do not have a HDTV, will I notice any picture quality difference between this DVD player and the Sony DVP-S9000ES? What about sound quality? How much of a difference (if any) is there between the DVP-S735D and DVP-S9000ES during DVD playback?

  17. I am planning to get the Home Theater that is in my signature. The thing is, I hear that Klipsch is releasing their new Reference Series subwoofers pretty soon. So, I was thinking that I would NOT get the KSW-12 and just wait for the new Reference Series subwoofers. Will the Home Theater sound okay without a subwoofer for awhile? ------------------ Computer: AMD T-bird 1.0GHz@1.0GHz AOpen AK73 Pro 2x 128MB Mushkin High Performance REV3 222 IBM Deskstar 75GXP 30GB AOpen DVD-1640 Pro (16X DVD/40X CD) ATI Radeon 64MB DDR VIVO Hercules Game Theater XP Samsung SyncMaster 900IFT CSW DeskTop Theater 5.1 DTT3500 Digital (Getting soon) Home Theater: TV: Sony KV-ES34M91 (34" FD Trinitron WEGA) DVD: Sony DVP-S9000ES Receiver: Yamaha RX-V3000 Speakers - Center: Klipsch RC-3 Mains: Klipsch RF-3 Surrounds: Klipsch RS-3 Subwoofer: Klipsch KSW-12

Thanks. Thanks for the reply. But out of the Denon AVR-4800 and the Yamaha RX-V3000, which is the better one and why. ------------------ Computer: AMD T-bird 1.0GHz@1.0GHz AOpen AK73 Pro 2x 128MB Mushkin High Performance REV3 222 IBM Deskstar 75GXP 30GB AOpen DVD-1640 Pro (16X DVD/40X CD) ATI Radeon 64MB DDR VIVO Hercules Game Theater XP Samsung SyncMaster 900IFT CSW DeskTop Theater 5.1 DTT3500 Digital Home Theater: TV: Sony KV-ES34M91 (34" FD Trinitron WEGA) DVD: Sony DVP-S9000ES Receiver: Yamaha RX-V3000 Speakers - Center: Klipsch RC-3 Mains: Klipsch RF-3 Surrounds: Klipsch RS-3 Subwoofer: Klipsch KSW-12
