  1. Hi , Antone , I'm disapointed in reading that you're going with advise of some one who has'nt even any experience in porting a Heresy. That's your choice. I don't know where you come up with an $80 figire for porting. The tubes are $6.00 each $10.00 including cuts for the rear panels. I just also wanted to report my findings of the Erse Super Q inductor. It's a perfect match for my application. The opposite of what I got out of the C core. The bass performance has improved even furhter. If distoion means improved over all bass response, including tighter , more tuneful, deeper extention and more musical. Give me distortion ! Stan
  2. Hey Antone, agreed as to gas prices. I drive an Explorer and work 60 miles away . You're enjoying improved bass in your Heresys is a profound improvement to say the least when it comes to the Heresys. My Heresys are pretty damned smooth in bass dept.especially in the issue of "no bass" to even speak of for these in stock form. I swear by mine and am just miffed at how so few of us has, besides you, apparently , has even attemted to" really" deal with the Heresys obvious and unacceptble shortcomings as a viable HI-Fi speaker system. Stan
  3. Hi', Antone, I don't know how to post a picture here. But anyone who's signed onto AK , I'm sure has already seen my photo of the two woofers side by side.Yeah it's a real no brainer even visually , what the superiority of this driver can acheive. Stan ps. Port your speaker!
  4. Hi, OK. Enough cooking. I switched back to stock inductor. No doubt about it , no comparison, stock is much better for my aplication. Stock has more output,is grippyer, more weight and just plain more fun. Go figure. Stan
  5. Hi, Antone my crossover is the E2. I was away for a couple of days and with a more objective listen, they're today sounding OK. I'll let them " cook " a lttle longer. Folkdeath, There's still other avenues to explore and I just can't leave well enough alone. Stan
  6. Hi, so I received and insalled the 14 g. inductors. I'm sorry to report that I don't share the same enthusiasm as Antones on these. I'm not yielding any more bass output at all. In fact , less. Output is not increased and bass actually sounds leaner. I wanted to like these expensive inductors, but they just don't do it for me. Maybe it's just the combination with my port. After all, this hobby is pretty much about compromises isn't it. Stan
  7. Hi, Antone, I forgot to mention, at the moment, I'm using a 7 ohm resistor for the mid and a 2ohm for the tweeter with the Theta Audio caps. That's in my thread as well. Stan
  8. Hi, Antone, I've been using the Dayton woofers. I also have a photo of the two woofers for comparison on AK. This is one of the similarities that I said was so eery. I've got mine on 16 inch sand filled stands. Slightly tilted up- about 2 feet from rear wall. Away from side walls in a good sized great room. I'll post my impressions of the new inductors tommorrow . Stan
  9. Antone, thanks. If more and better bass( espcially at lower volume) is what I'd yield with this inductor, that is exactly what I'm looking for and welcome. It's arriving tommorrow. By the way, have you damped the mid range horn body yet with Mortite putty or simlar? If not , do so ASAP. The plastic resonates like a bell ,I'm sure you notice. Stan
  10. Hi, and by the way. Before you cut the port hole , you may want to consider doing it mirror imaged. Although my pair is consecutive serial#. The crossovers were mounted on oppsite sides . Since I opted for center of cabinet port . It obviously has to be to the left or right to clear the magnets and crossover. So mine are on opposite sides which tured out really cool. And allows more flexibility for speaker placement. Stan
  11. Hi, thanks. I'll give it a go when I get home. By the way, because of your enthusiastic review Antone, I ordered a toroidal 3.9 inductor. After mulling it over , I probably could have settled for the Erse super Q instead? What are your thoughts. Stan
  12. Hi, I'm sorry to hear that Antone. And I haven't any idea how to cut and paste . Maybe a member here can. You don't have to join, just read it. Thanks for the technicles djk As in my post, take your rear panel to Home depot and they'll cut it for free. There's a sheet availabe there. 3/4 inch particle by about 48? I posted picture on my post. The 4 and 5/16 in. adjustable port from Part Express is working great for me. Stan
  13. Hi Antone, after numerous attempts to log on here, finally. Firstly let me applaud your succesful and neccesary mod to your Heresys. Second ,in staving off the "measuring" nay sayers ,who just don' get it. I submiited a thread on Audiokarma which eerily resembles yours , which started about the same time as well. It's titled "Got Bass" on the klipsch corner. Please check it out. Pror to buying these, I had no respect for Klipsches (at least the Heresys) for that matter, for these very reasons we are addressing. Now , I'm enjoying something I never thought I'd ever give the time day to. Stan
