  1. ***Accidentally posted this in the "Alerts" chat. So I'm deleting and reposting here*** Hi, Located in Phoenix, AZ. I'm unfortunately looking to sell my Klipsch KLF-20's and C-7 center, along with my Denon AVR-3312CI receiver. We are moving to a smaller place and these don't seem like they'll have a home anymore, so hopefully someone else can enjoy them! Everything works great and has no distortion, etc. There are some cosmetic ding's/scratches from transporting - please refer to pics. I'd prefer to sell everything together, but would consider selling separate. Happy to answer any Q's https://imgur.com/a/wmbAx8N
  2. Moved post to Garage Sale.
  3. Hey Guys! In looking at your advice, I think I may have found the perfect receiver (http://www.amazon.com/Denon-AVR3312CI-Integrated-Surround-Receiver/dp/B004Z50L6E/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1339793094&sr=1-1&keywords=denon+3312)... What do you think? Although I purchased it, I can still cancel it if it sounds like a bad idea - what do you all think? As a reminder I have two KLF-20's, will hopefully get a KLF C-7 and have a 55" Panasonic GT30 (3D capable TV).
  4. Thanks for all the help! Final question - Will any quality receiver provide the best of both worlds in terms of HT and 2 channel audio? Or do I need to look for something in specific in order to get that? I was reading that one of the "dangers" in getting a home theater receiver is that it focuses on surround sound rather than playing the music from the two speakers - is this true? If so, sould I consider getting a 2 channel amp? I would just hate to hear distorted music, or not getting the best from my speakers.
  5. Thanks for the advice! I have a few clarifying questions: 1.) What is the difference between an HT and 2 channel receiver? Is the audio quality different? 2.) Should I look for something that I can connect to my Radio Shack amp, or will any receiver that I buy have enough juice to power my speakers? 3.) Are there any specific qualities to look for in a receiver? I'm assuming there are some differences in the frequencies that it can process, right? Are there any solid "rules" of what I'm supposed to look for in a reciever? Thanks again for the help, all - I greatly appreciate it.
  6. Hi Pete, Is there a big difference between home theater and 2 channel (aside from the obvious 2 speakers vs 7)? Wouldn't I be able to have a solid home theater setup, but then play music 2 channel? I guess my ultimate goal would be to have an amazing home theater system that I could listen to music on... So as it stands, I only have the pair of KLF 20's and the amp. I'm thinking my next purchase (after the receiver) will be a TV, then a center, then some surround speakers, then a sub - but that is obviously a long journey (not sure if that info helps).
  7. Hi All, I recently purchased a pair of Klipsch KLF-20's and they sound amazing! I currently have it set up to connect to an old Radio Shack amplifier model number MPA 250 (I found the owners manual and spec sheet at the following link http://support.radioshack.com/support_audio/49021.htm). I've managed to save up some cash to purchase a new receiver, but I have absolutely no idea on what type of features/specs I should look for in a receiver. I know Harmon Kardon, Yamaha, and Denon are pretty big players, but I am not sure which models are best - especially since I'm not sure if the receiver will have to be connected to my amp. I recently found a Denon 3311 floor model on sale at Best Buy for $650, but I'm not sure if buying a floor model is too risky of a gamble. Anyway, I am just looking to get some advice/input on what I should look for in a reciever and get some recommendations on receivers. As I mentioned I am still starting my home theater so I know that I'll likely have to upgrade in the future. I'm looking to spend somewhere between 500 - 700 on a receiver. Thanks for any/all help!
  8. It still has that noise regardless of whether i'm listening to my Ipod, TV, DVD, etc... I think its weird since it'll only be when there is audio playing and its a pause... It feels like it could be unnoticable to most people, but I can hear it and its driving me crazy!
  9. Hey All, I just purchased my first Klipsch Speakers!!! They are KLF-20's and sound amazing - the only bad part is that I cant crank it up too much, or the walls start shaking and I'm sure my neighbor upstairs wouldn't apprecaite it. I have set it up in a pretty interesting way. I have it connected to an old Radio Shack amp (http://cgi.ebay.com/RADIO-SHACK-MPA-250-POWER-AMP-L-K-/110667280656?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19c448b110 - its ebay, but its the only info i could find on it). And I realized that if I want to be able to control the bass, I can connect it to my old DJ mixer (http://www.thepawnshopper.com/Consumer/Detail.aspx?itemid=935) and tweak it that way. This will have to do until I scrape up some $$$ for a decent receiver Anyway, I would like to ask whether you all know of a reason why my speakers have this slight staic sound to them. It only happens when music is being played (ie, there is a pause within a song), but there is absolute silence when the track is changing. Could it be my speakers? I also noticed that I cant have the spekers close to my TV, or else I get those magnet stains - I thought Klipsch speakers were magnetically shielded to prevent this? Thanks for the help!

    KLF-20's

Really? I figured that they wouldn't be worth that much since they have the black finish on them? How much do you think these are normally worth?

    KLF-20's

Hello all, I'm checking out these speakers that are a couple of hours away from where I live... Are these better than the reference series? What do ya'll think of the price? http://tucson.craigslist.org/ele/2284913279.html

    R25 Feedback

Hey thanks for the feedback... I tried to reply, but its not showing up for some reason... Anyway, I'm definitely thinking of checking them out. Are these considered "lower-end" Klipsch speakers? I heard some RF-5's (I believe) and they sounded amazing - I'm just curious to know whether I would expect similar sound quality on these? Also, is there anything I should look for in particular when purchasing used? I've never bought home theatre speakers (let alone used home theatre speakers) so I just want to make sure I'm not getting scammed or something haha. Thanks!
  14. Hey everyone, Any opinions on this deal? This would be my first purchase - so I'm definitely looking for a good starter set. Thanks for your input! http://phoenix.craigslist.org/wvl/ele/2280716973.html

    KG-4's

Hi everyone, Do any of you have an opinion as to the Klipsch KG-4's? I found this ad in CL and am wondering whether it would be a good deal... I have no current Klipsch setup, so this would be my first addition. http://phoenix.craigslist.org/nph/ele/2276964983.html Thanks!
  16. Thanks to everyone for their input! Are there any additional suggestions/preferences? How did you all start your system? Did you buy everything at once, or slowly upgrade?
  17. I'm actually around that area for work... I can meet tomorrow evening... Like 5-ish? Does that work for you? If you'd like, please provide me your email and I will send you my contact info. Thanks!
  18. SuBXeRo, Am I safe in assuming that the Cornwall deal is better than the RF-3 deal you mentioned earlier?
  19. SuBXeRo, Thanks for your reply too... I actually live in Scottsdale as well so maybe I can go check out your setup sometime. Is the price you listed for the rf-3 system good?
  20. Bill, Thanks for your response. You are correct in assuming that I'll need the whole shebang with that money... Now that I'm thinking about it, I used to DJ waay back in the day and have an amp from Radio Shack (I think its Optimus brand) that I used to power two 15" speakers (which I also still have). I dont remember the specifics, but I'm sure it'll work to power the Klipsch speakers - right? Thanks for the heads up on the CL ad, I went ahead and emailed the guy to see if its legit.... Should I offer a lower price? What is a good price to buy these at? Thanks again!
  21. Hello, I am completely new to these forums and I am sure that there have already been tons of posts asking the same questions, but the search function here hasn't given me what I am looking for. I am a recent college graduate and am looking to start setting up a nice home theater system. I know most products here are really expensive, and if I want nice quality, I'll have to fork out upwards of $5k, but needless to say, I'm not at that level yet. Ideally, I'd like to start piecing together a good system. I'd be comfortable spending approx $500-600 and do not mind buying used (as long as it is a good deal). Since I would not be putting more money into my system for another year or so, I'd like to have this purchase fully capable of giving me the awesome Klipsch experience (if that even exists at this price, lol). Some details that might be useful: I currently live in a condo (planning to move out in about 1-2 yrs) and my living room is about 10x10. Obviously, when I move I'd be looking to have a larger living room. I have an ancient TV, but I would be looking to buy an HDTV after I get this initial purchase out. I have a PS3 (dont know if thats too useful) I life in Phoenix, AZ. I'd greatly appreciate any/all input and advice. Thank you for your help!
