  1. I don't think your really crazy , I would be so nervous to do that. They are so expensive. I think it's cool what your doing. Very interesting

Just curious--What did you think about your RF-7IIs when you got them home?

When I got them home I was amazed with how they sounded , big difference from my paradigm 9. The detail and power , out standing.

When I used the term your "crazy" I meant no disrespect to anyone, above all Youthman. Youthman has always offered his help and know how , there's no way I would want to disrespect him.

I think what him and DeanG are doing is really interesting, and im looking forward to the results . If anything give me the courage and know how to go about doing something like this. And I thank them both and appoligize if I have insulted anyone.

  2. True enough!

I wonder... since I have all that Roxul up there, would there be any benefit to me replacing some tiles with stretched fabric to let the sound up into the cavity to disperse there?

That's how I did mine , found they made a big difference . Still need to make two more for the ceiling . To bad you live 6 hours away ,tell you stop by.

  3. Not finished yet but getting there , still have the flooring to do, finish the back of the theater. Will be putting a bar back there. So that will be another year.

It's not even finished yet and it's already looking good larbo13! I hope you don't mind me saying this but when you have everything enclosed, go into the most middle part of the room and clap your hand as hard as you can and listen for reverb or echos. You may need a few wall treatment. Otherwise, man, it looks awesome.

Thank you guy's , Javelin don't mind at all. I just did the bass traps and panels this past week, I still have to do two more for the ceiling. But yes your right I hear the echos from the ceiling. The bass traps and panels made a huge difference , once I get the other panels up and some carpeting I don't think there will be any prob.

  4. Watched about 3 hours of video on my Oppo without a glitch last night. The only thing more frustrating than phantom problems is phantom solutions. Especially after you've engaged support services. Grr.

Was the problem that you only needed an update ? Or your still not sure what it was.

  5. What if both of your systems are "pretty"? :D

Larbo, I know what Thaddeus is saying and I agree, upgrading your surround backs probably won't be that big of a difference. If you wanted to upgrade your surrounds, I would upgrade the side surrounds since they receive a good amount of information. You could leave the RS-42 for surround back and upgrade the RS-35 to either the RS-52 or RS-62.

That's what I said my side surrounds :P my rear surrounds are rf-82 not changing though one's . Well mmm don't think so.

  6. With my wife, I have owned so many other speakers and she knows what sounds good and what doesn't, when I let her hear gear I buy both and let her figure it out. And 9 times out of 10 she would pick say the rs-52 over the icon ks-14. Obviously a night and day difference. But then when I tell her the icon cost xxx brand new but I got the rs-52 for xxx used mint it's a no brainer.

I wouldn't mind buying used , ive looked and looked. When I do find good deals on thing's ,to get it here in Canada would cost to much in shipping . So in the end not really a good deal.

Even looking in Canada I don't find anything. Like Emotiva I want to get the xpa 3 , well add another $200. For buying high end stuff it sucks to be in Canada. Don't get me wrong I love Canada  , we get the short end of the stick sometimes. :(

  7. Women are strange sometimes ,MY wife want's to get new couch's for the theather ,which is good . I said id rather get a new set of speakers. She reply's you don't need any you have enough. I tell her with the new speakers the sound wont be right in your ears, it'll be more off to the side's. No no let's get new couchs. But babe we have three already. She replys ya but there old and uncomfortable . I say my speakers are old.

And that's where we are today with me getting new speakers.

  8. Awsome job! I notice you run a sub right behind the lp. I also do that and would never run a ht without it. I'm really surprised more people don't do it. When it's dialed in its really amazing :)

Thanks, when I had it up front in front of the rack I found it to be to much bass. The rf-7 give out lots of bass , as you know. So I started moving the sub around ,and that was the best place. Bass sounds really good and even , plus the couch vibrates which is pretty cool.

    Rimouski. :)

    Hey not to far .
