  1. Love mine sounds great! Wait for their sales though can probably save a few hundred when they go on sale with free shipping I bet they will have a sale on the 4th of July
  2. And that’s just the video[] the technology is night and day

  6. Grats on a great center use to have one and loved it (rc-62) I would go as big as you can (price vs space) nothing other than maybe the rf-7ii in the reference line would be too big for that center.
  7. Even though you’re cutting out the power part of the avr the processing parts are still huge and the sound will be affected by how good it is as well imo
  8. I caution just buying the cheapest unit. Video transfer would be one thing to look at if you plan on running your video outs to the onkyo and then to the TV. You want to make sure you’re getting the full color transfer possible. I know on mine the video transfer is better on mine than on the lowers models. I know denon is the same way not sure about onkyo. Most stuff doesn’t have 2 hdmi out puts so from say a ps3 if you want to use the hd formats for sound you have to run the hdmi to the avr first then from the avr to the tv. So you can lose picture quality if you use a lower level avr. Now you could run optical from the ps3 to the avr and the hdmi to the TV but then you can’t use the new hd sound formats
  9. Yes you will have plenty power in a 5.1 set up but I would caution 7.1 most avrs that are rated around 100 or more a channel only will run in the 40-50watt range with 5 channels. If you add 2 more speakers they will drop way down and give you no head room. What I mean is if you’re watching a movie and it’s at a good level and running about 75% of your power you have more power when the movies demands more volume. If you add 2 channels then the same level will take 90- 95% of your power so when the movie gets louder your avr will clip and that’s when you can damage your speakers. That’s probably the best part of having a separate amp is the head room. Not only does it sound better but it’s always driving clean power. Head room is so important with movies because it’s always up and down on how loud it is. But good choice on getting speakers first you won’t be disappointed.
  10. The guy from klipsch had said they made a few but that was it. I did a goggle image and only one pic (the same one that was posted that bill said he saw) looks nice though I wonder why they didn’t make more of them
  11. The add you saw is the same thing as they have on vanns sight it shows cherry but it’s not.
  12. "Might have been in early development that we considered the wood surrounds. Seems every one wanted black. We may be working on more real wood products in the future...."
  13. On the contrare my friend...willliand has been looking for a pair of Cherry RS-52's for quite some time now. Bill told me Klipsch made them for the UK market. That's why we don't see them in the US. This is the first pair that I have seen come up in cherry. Are you sure I thought those pics going around was a model that klipsch was messing with but never moved forward with? I have seen the pics of them in cherry though. Like they have pics of the new rf-7ii with the old cone drivers and some with the old feet.
  14. He lists them as cherry but RS don’t come in cherry only black
  15. I bet that sounds amazing very nice set up. I hope someday to get a nice set of khorns for a 2 channel set up. Probably would have to be my next house though I would need more room
  16. Often it's the law of diminishing returns. Yea no regrets just being honest might help the next person save some money. When I upgraded from the rs-42 to the rs-52 it was imo a huge upgrade. And don’t get me wrong the rs-62iis look and sound amazing so if anything it shows just how good the rs-52s are. Every other upgrade I’ve made in the reference line was a pretty big noticeable change that was probably the only exception. But I bet if I listened to 5 channel music I would notice I bigger upgrade though.
  17. I meant for the sc-3 but I would probably get new drivers for the rf-7s also 161 isn’t to bad for a rf-7 10
  18. I'm definitely pleased with the performance of my RS-52's with my RF-83 system. They definitely have no problem keeping up with the front soundstage. Even though I love the rs-62ii (I like the new grills) and I did get a good price on them I probably should have just stayed with the rs-52s they really are all anyone needs unless you have a really big room. The money I spent would have been better spent somewhere else imo. Also I sold the rs-52s to a friend for practically nothing. [:$]
  19. I believe they use neodymium magnets now. Developed in 1982 by general motors, neodymium magnets are the strongest type of permanent magnet made.
  20. How is saying? “I don't disagree with your opinion on this. The F-3s are good speakers, and they can be had on a limited budget.” Saying that the f-3s are a waste of money? I’m confused[*-)]
  21. Jason he was giving his opinion just like the poster asked for. This is the 3rd forum I’ve seen where you have come in and responded in a way that tends to sound like you’re saying the response was somehow inappropriate. nothing he said was trying to talk him out of the synergy line he just gave his opinion that I and I’m sure others will agree with that matching his other reference speakers with front reference speakers makes total sense
  22. I agree with everything SuBXeRo said only thing I would say is if you’re going to upgrade your fronts I would get the rf-62 or the rf-82 the rf-52 are pretty small for floor standing speakers. It would be an upgrade but I think anything smaller than the rf-62 is almost a bookshelf speaker or mini floor standing speaker. But best thing to do is go hear for yourself (rf-52 rf-62 rf-82) and see what sounds closest to what your ultimately looking for (the movie sound you talked about) and get that speaker. you can get any of them for the cost close to the xpa-3. I’ve read on many forums and I agree 100% when buying front speakers buy the best you can afford and have space for. It will save you so much money down the road when you go to upgrade your other gear because you will have fronts that will keep up. Like if you get a better center down the road you will already be set (rc-62) if you get a new amp (xpa-3) you will be set and so on.
