I also ordered a "keyless Drill chuck" last week. I hope it comes in on time.
You may want to hang on to the keyed chuck... especially if you end up drilling larger holes in hardwood (metal?). Life is long - you never know what you may run up against.
I missed the beginning of this thread but am very glad you found what you needed.
Not to hijack but... I'm a big fan of vintage machinery. The saying - they don't make 'em like they used to definitely applies to vintage US iron ('arn) (pre mid-70s, + or - is generally a safe bet) . Built to last forever. Common in estate sales, CL, school auctions, etc. More stout than most anything in stores today and can be had for a fraction of the price.

They look more 'cane like' in person than in the photo. Now that I examine them again I can't say with 100% certainty. I'm the second owner and always assumed they were cane grills. Would documents that came with the speakers have that info? Mine are in my attic at the moment.

Maybe mine are 'Heritage Brown'? They definitely aren't polyolefin. Is there a photo repository of available heritage Klipsch grill options? A
quick search led me to some beautiful restorations but isn't helping me
find the answer. I don't want to hijack the thread but would be
greatful if someone could confirm. -

Umm... that's embarrassing. I used a thin putty knife and the worst of the two bases came off. Glad the veneer is good and sturdy. My original efforts made it seem like the wood would lift with the glue. Guess it's time to open the back...
Please also see my request in the garage sale area. Looking for a single copper badge for the grill.

I'm rehabbing a pair of Forte Is. The base front on one is in pretty bad shape so I'd like to rotate it, at least temporarily. Even if I make a new base it'll need to come off. Unfortunately, the bases are screwed and glued in place. Was this common practice at the factory or did someone add glue later on? It looks to be polyurethane based glue.
Has anyone ever faced this problem? I'd like to remove it with little or no damage to the bottom veneer.
All assistance appreciated.

I recently rescued a pair of Forte I's and would like to get them singing again. One looks a little naked without it's copper badge. Does anyone have a single for sale? I'll buy a pair if necessary.

Site used to be linked to a hole-in-the-wall mobile stereo retail address in Phoenix, AZ - or maybe that was hifibuynsell. Regardless of the name, the inventory was identical to the site you saw and never changed the entire time I watched it. Once saw a listing from them on audiogon that was snatched up in a hurry but do not know the outcome - the buyer did not leave any feedback.
Jan. 18 EDIT - My memory was incorrect (not unusual, unfortunately) - previous address was in Tucson.
