Well your definitely headed in the right direction, don't think you could go wrong with either set. Sammy and Panny's are the 2 best plasma manufacturers with panny's generally getting the nod with a lil better black levels and the Sammy's with a lil better color reproduction. I've always went with Sammy's just because I've always liked the cosmetics of there sets much more than the pannys. But to most that's probably not important. Another case of personal preference is all. I will second the notion of going ahead and jumping for 65" tho!

Lava LSP12 for $287 shipped with risk free 30 day trial if you are an AVS forum member. I tried one out and returned it but not because it wasn't a good sub I just needed something to go lower for I mainly watch movies. The lava is a very musical sub and has a lot of output 35hz and up and has received many rave reviews especially for its price range. Good luckAnyone else with any idea's? I only have an old skill saw so any tuba sub would be out.

I agree however I wasn't comfortable mounting these monsters to tilt mounts and also that would have made them stick out from the walls even farther resulting in my front door hitting the surround right, therefore I used flush mounts. As for moving it away from the back wall its about an inch away and this is due to the fact to help hide the speaker wire that if you look closely runs under the corner bead up the wall. I wasn't able to have the place prewired when built so I had to do some carpentry work to make it work. I appreciate your advice and I had considered both but as previously stated room aesthetics are important to me as well and ill sacrifice a lil sound quality for a very clean look as opposed to an ouch look at that ugly speaker wire or holes in the wall.Surround Left
Might sound even better angled out, or moved from that side wall...

Thank you very much sir. I do the best I can with what I have to work with. You are to be congratulated for your install skills!&nb; You sure know how to make the most of the space that you have. I tend to see rooms laid out as such to be an HT challenge (as in "there's no room for Cornwalls back there"), but you have made it look great!

The synergy line is still around they just updated it as a matter of fact last year I believe. I'm guessing you probably have the older c-1... if I was you I will browse my local craigslist, eBay, and the garage sale section here. I've seen some nice lightly used synergy systems selling at very attractive prices. A synergy system was the first set of Klipsch I ever heard and what drew me to them and home theater for that matter. A lot of bang for your buck. Hope this helps.

Been out of town for few weeks on business so haven't been able to update on my initial opinions on the LAVA LSP12. I can't lie I was honestly a little dissapointed. As stated earlier I have previously owned a JBL ES250P and Klipsch SUB12. The LSP12 matched these at best. I was expecting more especially after reading all the rave reviews about this sub. I heard a lot of chuffing out of the sub, even more so than I did from my SUB12, maybe ths was due to the ports on the LAVA are on the front where as the SUB12's port is on the back. The good thing is, and one of the reasons I wasn't scared to jump for the LSP12 was it's 30 day risk free trial. After trying to tell myself it would suffice for a week I decided it just wouldn't cut it. It just seemed like it couldn't keep up with my RF-62 system or provide the low frequencies required. I have to give LAVA credit, they have excellent customer and were great to deal with. For the sub $300 price range it is a good sub, but I wanted more output. I ended up getting a brand new EPIK Legend off an AVS forum member for a great price. The Legend is cleaner, tighter, and louder. An EPIK sub is what I originally wanted but decided to skimp. I'm more than happy with my Legend, for my space it is more than enough. I'm going to post some pics of the LAVA for those that are interested. If youre on a tight budget give it a shot, maybe you will have better luck, and you have nothing to lose. If you don't like it send it back and they will refund you your money. I'll post pics of the Legend later for I haven't snapped any yet. Let me know if you have any questions about either for it doesn't seem there are many members on here with either the LAVA or EPIK. Cheers

An open box new rc-62ii can be had on acousticsounddesign.com for $381. Call them and they will give you a 15% off coupon code. Can't give you any comparisons of the speakers for I've only heard the ii but if you're worried about price that ought to answer you question.

There aren't a ton but they aren't super rare. Lion king, the new transformers, the new pirates of the carribean. Just to name a few. It generally says on the back of the bluray case if you are looking specifically.Anyone come across a new list of 7.1 movies? I found this one but it is about 1 year old. http://forum.blu-ray.com/blu-ray-movies-north-america/159814-list-bds-7-1-audio.html I know on video games my receiver when setup on auto surround will show R-C-L-LS-RS-LR-RR-LFE but it has never shown all 4 surrounds working when watching a movie. Are there any true 7.1 movies?

You sure you aren't confusing this forum with your Facebook page?
I share a facebook page with my wife so i don't always get to post things that I enjoy like this, just trying to better introduce myself to the forum. I'll keep it mostly home theater related tho I promise!

A Good Deal?
in Home Theater

Welcome to the forum! Regarding the RF-62s I would say that's a fair deal, not excellent but pretty good at the same time as long as the speakers are in the condition you say. I just picked up a pair of cherry rf-62ii last month for $550 that were in very good condition. You might be able to find a better deal if you're patient but if it's what you really want I wouldn't pass them up. Someone else I'm sure can chime in and offer their opinion.
