  1. Making the walls as non-parrelel as you can is best. Also complicates construction. You want to avoid standing waves internally especially with a tall cabinet. I've built a lot of speakers from scratch ....some of which are here http://gallery.audioreview.com/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=246853 As you can see I hate building square cabinets.
  2. A bit tall. Would feel awful if it fell on someone, or the cat. Well maybe not the cat. Could have bought 4 WF 35's for $1200 delivered though. Notice the top one is polished. They polish out to a perfect mirror if you know how. Also took them apart and rebuilt them as soon as I bought them. New crossovers and replaced all the wiring w/16g. And added more damping to the inside walls also.
  3. Yes I took a few pics of the cabinets before and after. You really can't see how nice they really came out but it does show in the reflections.
  4. Recently purchased a pair of WF-35s in Espresso and made a couple of improvements to them. The wood cabs were nice but didn't seem that shiny for 10 coats of poly. First I polished them with Meguirs X20 scratch remover twice using blue paper shop towels then microfiber towels. Afterwards sprayed with Turtle Wax F21 protectorant (like Armor All) and let it dry overnight. Then applied a coat of liquid car wax the next day. Unbelievable mirror finish. They look like speakers costing much more. Then I took them apart. Noticed that the crossover was made of very inexpensive parts. I had two 2500 hz crossovers in stock from PartsExpress and removed the factory one. Screwed it to the bottom of cabinet. Then I replaced all the ultrathin internal wiring with 16gauge speaker wire. It was tough to get to the speaker terminals which were on the side close to the cabinet wall so I removed the front panel and rotated the woofers 90 degrees facing the terminals downward. I did one then compared to stock . The difference was incredible. Much tighter sound and the horn really opened up sounding much livelier. The stock speaker sounded muddy compared to the modded one. Warranty is now blown to hell but I feel I have the best looking and sounding WF35's around.
