  1. Well OK then! U have me convinced... I will either find a 62ii now, or will wait for one to break free nearby or on eBay or wherever. Thanks for all the good input! If not for your advice, I probably would've just jumped on that RP-250C and would've ended up being disappointed and PO'd that I didn't come here 1st... ☺. Cheers!
  2. Ok.... One last question on this subject (I think). I mentioned the RP-250C above and I all but felt the collective shiver out of your posts. So I immediately got that one out of my mind. But what about the RP-440C? Does that illicit the same bad feelings as the 250C? Am I still better off trying to get a RC-62ii or worst case a 52ii, or should I consider the 440C if I find a decent price? Again, thx for the great input!!
  3. Nice! Yur good... I think this is in DE though, does say he may deliver. Interestng... I'll check that one out! Thanks!
  4. Ah! I hadn't thought of CL! ...well, I'm in the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area of PA, and a search there, and even as far south as Philly, doesn't seem to be turning up any RC-62ii's. :-( I do see a handful of C-10's (low end?), and a good number of RF's if I was in the market for them... Just no RC-62ii's. Other suggestions? :-)
  5. Thx for the input guys. Not sure I can find an RC-62ii though... A quick search turns up a few used ones, maybe 1 or 2 that claim to be new. Still looking at around $500, which may be a tough sell for the wife... I may have to settle for the 52ii's. U think the 62's would be THAT big of a difference from the 52's? Enough for me to make the big sales pitch (ie - lots of begging/pleading & promises of completing house chores....)? I'm not a HUGE audiophile, but I can definitely tell that my Polk CC is pretty muddy, even compared to my RB-61ii's. So I gotta think either of the Klipsch would be a big step up...
  6. Hi all! Hoping for advice on a new CC speaker. Looking to upgrade from an old Polk CC to one of the Klipsch versions in the title. I currently have RB-61ii's for the front, an RW-12D sub, 2 older Polk rears (will replace next), and the old Polk CC I want to replace. Unfortunately I don't have the space for the larger 4 woofer CC's, but I think the ones in the title should fill the room nicely. Any suggestions on which would be the best CC out of these? And/or which one would pair the best with my RB-61ii's? Any help would really be appreciated!

    Plasma or LED?

I have a 55" Samsung LED that I picked up a few months ago. VERY happy with it! I do have a brighter living room, and while I do see a little reflection, it's not distracting at all since the screen is so bright and clear. No issues w/ sports either, the 240Hrz refresh keeps everything smooth and ghost-free. The off angle viewing is nowhere near as bad as I expected it to be. I read a ton of reviews before buying it, and most of them warned about this issue. But honestly I really can't see a ton of difference unless I watch it WAY off angle (>45 degrees at least). And even then it's not really that bad at all. Gotta admit, I do like the 3D too... Plus it's something like .75" thick and <50lbs! Will be like a picture hanging on the wall... The image quality with a plasma will be a hair better in the area of screen continuity, but unless you are an extreme videophile you may never notice it. The plasma will be much heavier and thicker too (and uses a ton more electricity... relatively speaking). And if you play a lot of video games on it, you may have to worry about burn-in on a plasma. The newer sets are not as prone to this as older models, but still something to be careful with. I really wanted something that blends nicely into the room without sacrificing image quality, and this TV fits the bill perfectly!
  8. Ok, got a little farther, but not there yet. I think I'm going to have to stick with in wall speakers of some sort. I made the "mistake" of going over the different options with the wife, and of course she is pushing hard for me to go as minimalist as possible. Hence, in walls. Anyone have any experience with the sound quality from that product line? Options I'm thinking for the 2 fronts are either R-5650-W, R-3650-W, or R-5502-W. The room is about 20x20 with a cathedral ceiling, so I'd need something that can fill that fairly well. Not sure of the "real world" differences between these sets.... And as previously noted, I'll have an RW-12D sub to make up for the bass that I'll be losing by taking out the big Advents. I'll replace centers and rears later, but need to start with something for the fronts. Anyone have any advice/suggestions on these speakers? Or will I be losing WAY too much quality by going this route instead of sticking with the RB-61 II's? Those in walls are not cheap either, so I'm assuming that they are still good, quality sounding speakers... thoughts anyone?
  9. Thanks cornfedksboy! That's what I was afraid of. Is the Gallery series that new? I'll admit, I cannot seem to find much of any kind of real reviews on them. Same with the in walls though too. Any thoughts on those? Either ones would keep her happy from an aesthetics point of view, but I really don't want to give up anything on the home theater front either... And BTW, looks like my original post was cust a little short. Here's the balance: "As a guideline, I'm hoping to keep the price <$600 for the pair if possible. Oh, I also currently have a RW-12D sub and am using a Pioneer VSX-1021K. The center and surrounds are Polk, but I'll be looking to repalce those with Klipsch versions as well in the not too distant future, so no need to count them in the current equation."
  10. Hello Klipsch-folk! My 1st post to the forum, and I'm hoping for some assistance in helping me decide which way to go on front speakers. I currently have an old set of Advent Heritage towers for the front. Still sound great, but they are big and the wife is pushing hard for me to downsize. Hence my dilema... Unfortunately there are no showrooms in driving distance for me to give any of these a listen. I like what I've read about the RB61 II's, but they may even be too big for the wife. I assume they would sound better than the G16's or any of the comperably priced in wall versions, but please let me know if this is not the case. So what would you suggest here? Should I push to stay with the RB61's, or do you think I would get comperable sound with the G16's and/or in wall's? As a guideline, I'm hoping to keep the price <$600 for the pair of possible. Oh, I also currently have a RW-12D sub and am using a Pioneer VSX-1021K. The center and surrounds are Polk, but I'll be looking to repalce those with Klipsch versions as well in the not too distant future, so no need to count them in the current equation. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!!
