  1. Well I did some looking and found the new Rotel RSP 1572. Surround sound pre amp. It released October 2011 for $2199.00, Since i have three Crown Amps, i may keep and use them with the Rotel. I don't know what kind of deal they are going to give considering this is somewhat of a new item. Are you familiar with this preamp?
  2. Thanks i am going to do some research on the net and see what Rotel has to offer. I currently have a older Onkyo receiver, using the pre outs I connected my Crown PS400 to power the front set of speakers i have been wanting to upgrade my equipment for a long time, but didn't want to spend the money.
  3. My home theater is nothing but Klipsch. I am at the point where i need to upgrade my Amps, I was going to go with a tube set up but i just can't justify the cost. I am at the point where i am looking at some high end receivers, i really don.t want to spend more than $2500.00. I have been looking at both Denon for awhile and now i have been checking out Onkyo, because their higher end equipment is THX Certified. My front speakers are LaScala, rear are Heresy, center is the Academy speaker, with two 12 inch klipsch Subs. I know everyone bad mouths solid state but i need some constructive suggestions.
  4. Good comments from everyone, do you think is it possible to get a good tube pre-amp with capabilities of 5.1 and still use my existing Crown amps? If this is not possible then i am back to getting a good SS Amp. It sounds a little expensive to purchase tube mono blocks and putting it all together.
  5. Since 1985 I have had nothing but Klipsch speakers, that will never change. To best explain my problem let me tell you about my equipment. My front speakers are the LaScala's - Two piece, 7ply Birch, the rears are the original Heresy's, the center channel is the Academy and my subs are two each, KSW 12's. I have a Onkyo Receiver that i primarily use only as a pre-amp. I use the Onkyo pre-out connections for my THREE Crown Amps. I bought these amps new in the 90s and they have been dependable. I use the Crown PB-2 for the LaScala's the PB-1 for the Heresy's and the Crown PS-400 for the Academy Center Channel. I feel it is time to make some improvements and would like to get rid of the Onkyo receiver and purchase a intergrated Tube amplifier. Tube amplifiers are new to me, so what should i do to drive the rear speakers and the center channel? Constructive suggestions would be appreciated.
