  1. Ok got the Anthem, Pio Elite, Both KA -1000s, Elite 70, Oppo 93 all powered up and the amps read 8. So Im sticking with this. Hopefully large power spikes in volume etc dont cause something to trip but I think it will all be fine. Im planning to leave the Anthem, Pio Elite and the KAs on all the time. Only shutting off the Elite 70 and the Oppo when not in use. I like to leave the amps on
  2. Hmm interesting guys. Well so far I havent even listened to my new system yet. I know the Monster 2700 and 3700 as well as the reference power centers and Voltage stabilizers all give me readings of the amperage Im pulling and I know Im not using 34 amps even though if you divide 4050 watts by 120 = 33.7 amps. Last night with the anthem and Pio Elite on only the amperage read 7 amps. So im sure when I turn on the KA-1000 amps tonight and the Elite 70 and Oppo Player Ill see what it reads. initially it just tripped the breaker when I turned on the anthem but once it was on and im leaving it on it was fine and was reading 7 amps. I would of course prefer not to go through the expense but wanted some input on whether others out there have needed more circuits.
  3. I do have a dedicated 15amp breaker for the room. Hmm Im wondering what I need Im going to look up the specs on your RSW-15 and Velodyne HG-s15 and Parasound. Technically if you think about it we are running somewhere around the same amount of power. Maybe Im running a little more since with 2 KW-120s Per KA-1000 that is 1000 watts into 8ohms and or 3025 watts dynamic power which I know doesnt matter. But if we are both running about the same I wonder if im ok. I have only tripped my breaker a few times. When I first turned on my Anthem A5 last night it tripped the breaker but of course my amp stayed on because it was connected to the UPS and Voltage stabilizer so when I went down stairs and flipped the breaker back on I had everything on with the exception of the two sub amplifiers. I know I can put everything on without it tripping but my worry is when I crank the volume up if it is going to trip during a loud spike in sound such as the boulder chasing Indiana jones out of the temple lol. Anyone else have any feedback please let me know if you guys are using lots of amps and have added ciruit breakers.
  4. I purchased all of my Acoustic panels from ATS acoustics. Very reasonable and great easy people to work with I directly worked with Rhonda. They are about 45.90 a piece. For the Microsuede finish which is what I opted for. It looks really good in person very cinema like with that finish. With 11 mounted surrounding the room the acoustics work very well. Extremely quiet room with almost no echo whatsoever. I strongly suggest treating a room. It was suggested to me from other members and has made a huge impact.
  5. Thanks I have had them in multiple locations including 2 stacked in the front two corners and all 4 on diff. walls. Overall the deepest and most balanced output was together front and center directly in front of the listening area. Placing them side by side added increased DB output as well. I tried so many variations and eventually was looking at how the 4 are placed in the Klipsch THX cinema add and it worked best for me. Ill be updating lots of photos tonight thanks for looking.
  6. Sooo Youthman and others I see you use separate amps, projectors, dual subs with each having separate internal amps on each sub. What Im getting at is you are using a lot of power as am I and I wanted to know if you had more than just 1 15amp or 20amp circuit breaker for your system. I was going to call my electrician who built my home and have him install 2 more curciuit brekaers for my theater room since my theater room literally is a single room on the 4 th floor the cirucuit breaker actually is directly below it in the laundry room and I figured it would be easy to run 2 more 15 amp breakers. The reason im doig this is because I am pretty confident I has wayyy too much power on one breaker. I havent even turned everything on yet to watch a movie but with (2) KA-1000 amps and now the Anthem A5 and Pioneer elite (which only is powering 2 channels so not too much power draw there especially since it is the surround backs) I want to add 2 more breakers so there is one for the anthem, and 2 for each of the KA 1000s. sorry for the long post just want a detailed answer from you and others. So with (2) KA 1000 amps im drawing 2000 watts or 16.6 amps at maxed out since they are connected too 4 KW-120s. The Anthem A5 is 1800 watts with all 5 channels driven or 15 amps. If Im correct. Then Im only using 2 channels on the Elite SC-55 so at max power maybe 140 watts per channel highly doubt that it pushes that though but not concerned for the moment. I just thought it wise to add breakers and run each amp on a separate breaker. I have 2 voltage stabilizers and 2 Uninterruptible power supplies so at the costs of everything in the room I thought it necessary to get more breakers and circuits up there? Right now I can turn everything on in the room but. Im sure when I crank the volume up on those THX speakers it is going to trip the breaker.
  7. Welcome to the forum Man. I will say this as for the finish. The wood color offered in these speakers can be jaw dropping gorgeous. I have seen many of the speakers you talk about in some beautiful stains and finishes. But I wanted to give my two cents also about the black veneer finish as well. Although I prefer the look of the georgo0us wood I previously owned a RF-83 set up in all Black. The wood on them is also beautiful in black. They do give more of a modern look and if you are to eventually set them up as a home theater etc they would look nice. If you are getting some for musical purposes id go with Hersey or Cornwalls or a nice pair of Klipschorsn. Im in the market for Klipschorns as well. Like Member PSG noted they would be difficult to move in and out of apartments etc. and they are large. Cornwalls are decent sized and I have heard them. Sound fantastic. I would def. give the RF-63s, RF-82s, RF-83s a listen if you can. They are both great for Home theater and Music. If you can muster up saving a bit more you may be able to get a set of RF-7iis with an RC-64ii Center that would be an absolute fantastic start to the future home theater. RF-7iis are amaing. This is a fairly unbiased opinion as well as I love all of the above mentioned for different reasons and I acutally use the Klipsch THX ultra 2 system so any of these speakers look better than mine lol but performance wise for movies they cannot match IMO. Good luck Man.
  8. Blasphemy Youve taken your first step into a much larger world - obi wan kenobi
  9. One sexy rc 64 you have synergy
  10. Chad is a good friend of mine everyone thanks for the nice welcome to him. Chad. This is kind of the route it was thinking for you. The RC-62ii is a perfect match for your new RF-82iis. The deal you got on the RC-35 was good but like I said Id see about selling it on the garage sale to see if someone else can use it beneficially with their speakers more so then you. Several of the users on here you have spoken with have helped me a great deal as well. I can for see a beautiful RC-62ii joining those towers of yours soon. Happy hunting my friend. Text me with any questions as well.
  11. Welcome glad to see you on here chad. Great forum n great ppl on e here
  12. Well according to the THX website they also recommend that you use direct firing/direction speakers as surround back? Should I use a pair of KL-525s? I think since im sitting closer to them I should use the KS-525s still since they have wide dispersion. Since Im only about 2 feet from the back wall directional speakers I assume are going to put the sound overtop of me instead of it coming towards me. sooo still sticking with 2 KS-525s about 4.5-5feet apart sounds right?
  13. Thanks for all the great input everyone. I have decided to use KS-525s as surround backs and I have moved them much closer to each other only about 5 feet apart. With my rialto theater seats moved up and them closer together I feel the sound should be perfectly immersive. Thank you all.
  14. My brain is learning towards in wall thx ks 7800s in position 1. What do any of you have against in walls? Anything tat would cause u to dislike them audio wise?
  15. I had never thought of it. I kind of figured they were supposed to be directly behind the seating position for surround backs. I was going to get the new Anthm Pre-amp once Dolby digital Atmos is integrated into home theater receivers/blurays/pre-amps etc. They utilize ceiling speakers for sounds that appear to becoming from above. Shoot me some links/picks if you think this would be a neat option. I have access to install in my ceiling since my entire theater room is the only room on the fourth floor and is completely surrounded above and on all sides by attic space with soundproof insulation installed. I go back there a lot especially with the recent installs. (Ill be in there running my audioquest cables for my 3 KL-650s tomorrow) lol. If you do have links to in ceiling speakers as surround backs I would be interested in taking a look. Does anyone else suggest I use in ceiling speakers as my surround backs instead of KS-525s as surround backs on the rear wall? thanks all.
  16. Kl 7800 or ks 7800 ks would be the in wall surround if im correct with wide dispersion similar to the ks 525? Would that be better?
  17. Option 2 probably wont work as that is extremely close to my Side Surrounds. Directly to the right of that Dolby Digital sign and on the opposite wall of the room in the exact same position is where the side surrounds are placed. So I think option 1 is more ideal for the other set of KS-525s
  18. Hmm very interesting. My center channel though is actually mounted above the elite 70 rtv now. I have all 3 KL-650s mounted on the angled piece of ceiling just above the tv. I actually lowered the tV to eye level to remove the strain of looking up and all 3 KL-650s are mounted above. I can put the 2 KS-525s surround backs in the same spot as my RS-52iis or I can move them up you let me know what you think is best. Right now they are about 1.5 feet above my ears. I certainly moved the seats up about 12 inches off the back wall about 1 month ago this made a world of difference. Thanks for the input I look forward to reading more. Im leaning towards KS-525
  19. Sounds good Ill wait to hear a few more responses as im in no hurry to get the backs today I would prefer to read a few more opinions and if the general consensus is to go with rear in walls due to my seats being so close to the back wall Ill do that. Thanks for the detailed response.
  20. Good Morning Klipsch people. If you can chime in. I have received my 3 KL-650s and 2 KS-525s yesterday and the day before. This weekend starts the mounting process for them. Before I order my surround back KS-525s today I wanted to get a little feedback. Youthman I see you use directional speakers for your surround back. Now before I sold my reference series speakers I used RS 52iis as my surround backs and RS-62s as my side surrounds. After moving up my theater seats a bit I really was able to get some great sound behind me with the Wide dispersion surrounds. If you dont mind could you take a quick look at some of the photos I posted in another thread and anyone else for that matter as to where or not I might be better off with putting in some Klipsch THX KS 7800 in walls as my surround backs? Im definitely set on using the KS-525s as my side surround i.e. they are sitting in the box up there already heh. Before I purchase the surround backs today I just wanted a little input. Thanks guys. What say you Ks-525s or KS 7800 surround Backs?
  21. Youthman: yeah you took your advice did a lot of research and as you can tell from the photos in my construction mode I put up a lot of panels 11 total and although I havent been able to audition the rooms sound quality yet since I have a speaker less theater until Sat I can tell the room is ultra-quiet. No echo whatsoever plus it looks extremely good like a theater. It makes the room cozy and quiet. Derrickdj1: Hey those do look great Im not sure that Im going to add them for my particular room I have no bass issues whatsoever since I moved all 4 subs in a line under the TV. It was just a thought at first but I like the way the7 look and sound as of now My house has extra thick carpet and the highest grade rubber carpet pad that was available on the market when I built the house. If they were on wood floors Id probably add them but Im going to opt out for them. Ill work on another project for now maybe add the Anthem A2 with my A5 next month or something. Or maybe start my darn Salt Water tank down in the study already haha.
  22. yeah it was just an idea some thing I read but for right now I'm actually done purchasing things for the room I got everything that is needed really and or now it's just time to start finishing up mounting and hooking this up. the acoustic panels made a humongous audible difference I think I'm going to pass on these risers
  23. Should I consider 4 subwoofer risers for my 4 THX subs? I have never seen these being used but do know about them and was wondering if they give an audible difference thanks
  24. I am routing for the RF-7iis I actually owned Polk speakers a long time ago and I did like them but I wasnt as into home theater as I am now. I have never owned the RF-7 (first generation or the iis) but I did have the RF-42 and RF-83s and have always wanted a pair of RF-7s. I have demoed the RF-7iis about 2 weeks ago and man they are dynamic and powerful/drop dead georgeous. I am a little biased but I hope you choose what is best for you. Ill be checking back with everyone else to see what you decided with. Cmon RF-7iis Win this guy over!!
