  1. Congrats on the new TV, wuzzzer! [Y] Curious to know your impressions once you get it and hook it all up!
  2. I don't have any experience with the RF82s, but I have the 62s paired with the RC62 and they work very well together. By all accounts the RC52 is a fine center, but I think you'll want to try the RC62 rather quickly if you go that route. So, you're likely better off going with the 62 at the outset and saving yourself the time and hassle. I'd second Scrappydue's thought on finding a way to hang the tv and simply setting the center channel on the top of the stand.
  3. Two that haven't been mentioned so far... The Dark Knight and the new Star Trek both have some great spots to show off a system.
  4. It was a pleasure to have you over and you did a fantasitic job with the setup. TV is crystal clear and audio setup is great...RF62s & RC62 sound absolutely seamless...just an all around great sound. Can't thank you enough for the time and effort, everything is spot on! Will definitely give you a ring when I get a new sub here sometime later this spring or summer (there's more beer where that came from!) Can't say enough good things about the forum members. Everyone that I've had the pleasure of talking with and/or meeting has been outstanding! It's been said before, but this is a great group of people! Thanks wuzzzer!
  5. Sorry...typo on the room size, it's actually 15x13, so not square, but fairly close. I can post a picture of it, but we've got out of town guests this weekend, so may be later this weekend. Wuzzzer, thanks for the offer, in fact if you don't mind, I'd really appreciate some help! Small world... I'm sure part of the problem with the boomy bass is the WAF. It's entirely possible that it's not in the best location, but is currently in the "approved" location...ha! It also seemed odd to me that YPAO would run the sub down to -10db, but wasn't sure if that was partly the room or what. I'll try to get a couple pictures up later this weekend and wuzzzer, maybe we can work something out when you have time. Thanks for the help!
  6. Been lurking for quite a while and have posted a couple times before. Really appreciate the advice & knowledge that I've been able to glean from you guys. I feel like an idiot for asking this, but I've been slowly putting together a system again, (right now it's only at a 3.1), and I think it sounds alright. My question though is how you guys go about calibrating and getting it "dialed in". I ask because although I think my system sounds good, I don't think it's "dialed in" as well as it could be. I've run the YPAO calibration on the receiver, it's turning the sub down -10db and has left the mains and center flat. My room is about 13x13 with vaulted ceilings and is open on one side to the dining room & kitchen, as well as having the stair case down. The bass is boomy (which maybe is due to my old JBL?), and I sometimes lose quiet dialogue when listening at lower volumes. I have loads of questions and few answers at this point, so was hoping for some advice as to what others do. Complete noob, I know... Is there something I should read (have read my manuals, but kind of feel like an idiot and am afraid to mess with something for fear I'll hose it up)? One question that comes to mind also - the sound modes...are these at all worthwhile, or should I have the receiver set to "straight" mode or "pure direct" mode? Sorry in advance for my ignorance, and thanks for your patience, but I appreciate any help!
  7. Welcome to the forum! I'm a noob here too, but thought I'd chime in since I recently bought the RF 62s. Others more knowledgable than I will offer better advice, but I thought there was a substantial difference between the RF 52 & 62 and a slighter difference between the 62 & 82. I liked the 82, but negotiated a nice deal on the 62s and am very happy with them. If you can at all free up enough space, I think you'd like the RC 62 better than the 52. The 52 is a fine center, but IMO, the 62 blends a lot better with the RF 62s and sounds much better. You may want to open up to a non-Klipsch sub also. From what I've read here, the Klipsch subs do fine, but there are some better options out there for the money. I bought all my speakers used and I think you could easily put together a front 3 and probably have enough left over for a decent sub/receiver with a budget of $2k by buying used. Again, others will probably chime in with better advice, but from someone who recently put together a similar system, have fun, be patient and good luck!

    RC-62

Thanks for the reply. The $320 is used from a guy that had it and now upgraded to the RC-64, so, sounds like I can get a better deal if I'm patient. Was the $325 that you paid for a new one or was that used also?

    RC-62

I've been lurking around here quite a bit and appreciate all of the good information that I've been able to find. I've got a pair of RF-62s with a JBL PB10 sub right now and would like to pair them with an RC-62 so that the front stage is timbre matched. What is a "good deal" on the RC-62? Right now what I'm seeing out there ranges from $320-500. I'm assuming $320 is probably fair...but, do you think if I wait for a while I'll find a significantly better deal? Thanks, I appreciate your advice! Brian
  10. This is my first post here and I've got to say that I've been very impressed with the level of knowledge and helpfulness that I've seen on this forum. There is a lot of useful information here and I'm hoping to tap that to help myself out. I ran across an opportunity to get a pair of RF-62 (not the II series) speakers for $500. They're 3 years old and in excellent condition. I can't help but wonder though if this is a fair deal for these? In looking at Craigslist & Ebay, it appears so, but it's always nice to have another opinion. This will be my first pair of Klipsch speakers (always had JBL S studio series before). Currently running a Yamaha RX-V667 receiver...so, from what I read, that could be an issue as well. Thanks for your thoughts and input! Brian
