  1. I have the 8.5s as mains and I think for the price they sound great. I've pushed them to their limits and they still don't sound harsh to me. They bring out all of the little things on good recordings. I also think they're pretty solid buildwise. I'm guessing it's either the CD player like you say or possibly they've been damaged. Wish I could be more help
  2. I currently have the KSF-8.5s as mains and I've heard great things about the KSF-C5 center channel and the KSF-S5 surrounds, which are matched with my mains, but, I can't really find them anywhere and I don't want to go through ebay or any auctions. So, I heard the reference 3 series is the closest match. I have seen the RC-3 center for about $250 and the RS-3 surrounds for about $500. How do these speakers match up to the discontinued synergy speakers previously mentioned?
  3. colin, I also got the ad... 70k speakers, auhahhghh simpson>...and in fact I was in Sound Advice today. I did see one of the LF10s there and demoed it in one of there rooms. It was alright but literally nothing earth shaking. I also got to listen to the rf7s for the first time....sounded great. I really wish they would've had them hooked up to an amp or something b/c I knew they weren't really playing the things to their potential.
  4. Well, I just got it today and I'm still testing it with different types of music and movies. I'm really impressed with how much power this thing has and I haven't even cranked it yet. This sub is great!
  5. I just ordered an SVS 20-39CS w/ the samson amp. I can't wait for it to get here! Well, I'm sure I'll have a few questions when I finally sit down with it and test it so this forum will be the place. lol.
  6. I have a question about the firing position of subs. I liked the ksw series because the subs are down-firing and I thought that would diffuse better throughout my room because the sub would be placed up against one wall, in the middle of it, halfway between the the front speaker and it's corresponding surround speaker. If I got a front firing sub would I have to change the position more to facing me to get the full effect of the bass?
  7. keith, I checked ebay when I got your e-mail and just checked a couple of minutes ago and I couldn't find any ksf-c5s. Can you mail me a link. You're kind of turning me back to the c5. You're a good salesman.
  8. thanks everyone, this info has been great! I think I am going to go for the ksw15. the rsw series is a bit too pricey for me. keith, I live in central florida. I understand about the other center and surrounds but they're discontinued and a little more expensive. I'm looking for new stuff but feel free to inform me on any deals you find. Maybe I'll check sound advice. p.s. theEAR: 6??? I'd like to see that HT setup!
  9. excellent...that's what I wanted to hear. I'm only 15 so I'll just save up a little longer for the ksw-15. Now, forgive a somewhat HT newbie, but my receiver puts out 100 watts per channel. So that means the sub will take that and amp it up to 800 watts? And, will 100 watts be enough to power it?
  10. great board, big klipsch fan! Well, I'm starting to upgrade my system into a full blown HT setup. All I need to do is get surrounds, a center, and a subwoofer. I've decided on the SS-1 surrounds and the SC-1 center. Now I'm wondering if my system could handle the KSW-15? I currently have KSF-8.5 mains and a Sony STR-DE945 receiver. I'm pretty new to subwoofers so any help is definitely appreciated.
