Happy Friday crew! Quick hello from the distant northwest. Up a little late to see the new Star Wars movie last night. Fans should enjoy it. If any of you are into that - review the original if you're going to as this one leads right into the 1977 classic!
Another cup of the blueberry flavored Joe this morning - a little snow - but high 20's is better than the -11 from most of the last week!!
Enjoy the weekend - except for you retired folks - enjoy today!- 4

Happy Monday! It's fun to see the winter pics rolling through (and I suppose the BBQ fare! ). Some of you have had more snow than we have recently - though it was 10 below this morning and we're having our furnace replaced today as well. (hurry, hurry, hurry!!)
I'm done with the little amount of Christmas Shopping that I'm responsible for. I can "coast" into the next few weeks now... Does anyone else feel December is much more crazy than it used to be?! Office stuff, kids stuff, church stuff, family and extended family stuff... hard to say no to things, but I don't like looking forward to January either - I want to enjoy the moments here.
On a side note we are enjoying a pair of RF 52's we picked up a couple of months ago from a friend who moved. It's helping my wife with her "shock" of having towers in the living room. After she's used to them, I'll try to move up a little bit to some Heritage Speakers. LaScala's would be a nice "next step" up.

Congrats to you both on your purchases! This is a cool looking product, good to hear positive initial reviews. My local dealer doesn't carry these (yet) and has never carried the stadium, I would have liked to have heard one.
Thank you for sharing about the issues, I had seen some, but not a lot. That makes me leery...

I like it a LOT! It's so sweet! I don't think it needs to be mixed at all!

The pic above is what I have in hand here. It's at my folks. My dad and I go in halves. Wouldn't know about it except my brother introduced it to us.
Ooohhh cutting you off is going to be a big job!
Btw - first taste of the Alaska distillery tonight - wonderful! Tried the blueberry vodka - can't believe it's been right here this whole time! Thanks for the tip!!

Just got back in town last night after being in Pensacola (Philippine Consulate trip). Turn on some news and see the info about the school bus crash with five kids deceased, six in intensive care and another six in regular rooms. That even gets a WTF from me...
A sad day, and the picture of the bus just about makes me ill. Some folks here could use a lot of prayers.
Bruce
Truly unthinkable. And now a reality for so many families. Hearts go out to them for sure, was praying about that a lot last night and today. I can't imagine...

I think that I have every flavor that they make. None of it is cheap, then there's shipping to here. If you like sipping vodka just to check out the flavors, then it's good stuff. I have tried several top-shelf offerings from here and none have beat the Alaska Vodkas. I'm waiting to get more, hopefully it will be here soon.
* Disclaimer: Although I have it here, I haven't tried the Smoked Salmon flavor yet.
That says something since you're from Kentucky! Well - I may have to swing by the store on the way home!

How does that compare to the Alaska Outlaw?
Huge grain of salt with my recommendation - I am NOT an aficionado! I have yet to try AK Outlaw. Good question - I saw the AK Outlaw and need to try it!
Since the maker, Alaska Distillery is less than 3 miles from my home, I guess I owe it to them to at least give them a try! My first foray into bourbon/whiskey was with Makers Mark about 8 years ago. So I'm a noob in this arena!
Enjoyed the sheep dip though, fwiw, and figured I'd pass it along.

Happy Thanksgiving week everyone! Hope everyone is able to enjoy time with the people who matter in your lives this week! (BESIDES the wonderful folk on the forum!)
Had a chance to listen to a friends Definitive Technology Speakers this weekend - not bad - especially for movies. While the side firing sub thing didn't work that well for me, I could see where someone would get used to that.
For a Thanksgiving spirit, for those who enjoy whiskey, I would recommend a (new to me) bottle of Sheep Dip. Quite smooth! Also enjoying the Sam Adams Winter Lager for the beer crowd!
SO much to be thankful for this year! Specifically family and HEALTH! For those facing the health battle, prayers with you right now.
Have a great week! Happy Thanksgiving!

Kind of got kicked in the head yesterday. Our company president called to let me know they are going to a national purchasing model and my department will no longer exist. Bottom line is I will no longer have a job come January 1. Well a Merry Christmas and a Ho Ho Ho to you. Time to refresh the resume and start looking.
Sorry to hear about this. All the best on the job search.

My gosh Dave, it looks like a bomb went off. Why so much excavation? Normally it's a trench for the lines, a hole for the tank and some trenches for the field lines.
The tank was buried pretty deep. We have a two story with a DLB and the tank was 10-12 feet below ground, so was the trench for the leach field. They started at 7:15am, dug up the old tank, replaced it with a 1500 gallon behemoth (five bedroom house requires that - it only had a 1250) and were out of there by 5p. It was amazing. They are the best in our area so it was comforting to know they were doing the work.
We bought this as a foreclosure four years ago. Normally the septic system is in the back yard, we think the well guy got here first and just put it in where it was easiest for him so the well is in back. House was built in '06 so it shouldn't have failed by now. He thinks (since we suspect they grew weed) that the potential was they could have dumped their fertilizer down the drain which I'm told is tough on those tanks. The house sat empty and the tank was full for two years, who knows? It's done now!
Let's hear it for emergency funds!- 3

What a game! History Made! My father and grandfather were fans, sadly, both didn't live to see it - spent the night texting my uncles and aunt, it was a blast! Today, the septic system is being replaced at our house - cha-CHING!
Happy Thursday!

The only difference was when they brought him over to trick-or-treat almost before we could snap a couple pics of him he was already taking the costume off to show off his new Big Boy undies - Star Wars theme of course. The Little Trooper ---
That's hilarious! Our boys want to drop to undies almost everytime we walk into our house, for whatever reason, they can't get enough of these costumes and they were back on by 8 this morning... go figure.

That's lousy about the tv! I hate taking things back - I agree with Carl, it looks like they shipped it on its face. Christmas week is not a good time to try to deal with something like this either. Hope that works out quickly.
