  1. I may stick out no shave November.  Here's how our crew turned out last night.  My two year old - Little Lord Vader refused to hold his own light saber so it was a brilliant dark side move, take my weapon from me.   The boys did great - it was a blast.  I tell folks that I think we're pretty good people, we just have really bad kids!  ;-)

I just put in an RF-7 II / RC-64 II set that I picked up through Crutchfield during this sale.  The RF-82 II pair are now the surrounds.  The freight driver showed up alone with a pallet jack but with speakers no longer on a pallet; he tried picking one up to carry but quickly changed his mind.  My hand truck salvaged that situation for us both. :P

    No Shave November, anybody?

Two weeks ago I started to embark on this facial hair journey because my two year old son is going to be Darth Vader and I Obi Wan Kenobi for Halloween.  Obi Wan had a beard so I'm "trying" to grow a beard, this is a first for me.  Since NSN is right on the back end, I figure I might let it ride for a while.  I discovered a great deal of gray hair, but I guess if it's all the rage, I'll let that ride too!  :-)

  4. Good Monday to you all!  What a crazy weekend - the cold never left (usually get some snow which melts off then we all really brace for winter) its was FOUR degrees this morning!

Crazy weekend in sports too!  How do two professional kickers miss chipshots back to back in overtime (Arizona vs Seattle)?!  But most importantly THE CUBS ARE IN THE WORLD SERIES!  My late father and grandfather were diehard fans, neither saw them win one, my dad never lived to see them make it!  A little emotional for me - and many others.  It will be nice to see two longsuffering cities finally have a shot at winning!

Trying some blueberry coffee again, a little strange, but not bad.  Have a great week!

Morning all.  Spent all day yesterday traveling and getting things organized at home.  Home health had to be lined out, prescriptions dropped off and picked up, bank trips (had been putting that off) and situating daughter at home.  Finally got back into our normal routine at the house and was on time for leaving for work this morning and my daughter came to the kitchen with the alarm going off on her machine.  It showed a blockage.  We called home health and of course she couldn't come till mid day.  She also said she had been doing this a long time and had never seen a blockage.  It's always something with the pump.  If the wound goes without vacuum for more than 2 hours you have to pull everything off, pack it with wet dressing and cover that with dry dressing.  My daughter didn't have any pain meds in her system so that wasn't the ideal situation.  I got to looking at everything and it's really a simple device.  Vacuum problems in dash boards for AC are pretty simple to diagnose so this shouldn't be too bad.  I eventually found that the cup on her abdomen was stopped up with "something".  I took a razor and cut around the cup, cleaned it out with tweezers and a small rod and put everything back together.  She's back up and running.  Hopefully it will last till she has her dressing change later.  It's always something.  We're REALLY glad to have her back home.

I know I'm late, but it's such great news that she's home!  Happy healing to her!

  6. Yeah there would be some inefficient motion in the winter.

When I was a police officer, we did the sandbags in the trunk thing for those rear wheel Crown Vics, (and some "training" in the HS Parking lot on night shift - gotta be proficient right?!).

Still praying for your family.  Looking forward to reports of full health and this time in your rear view mirror.

  9. Happy Friday All!  Frosty here again this morning!  Coffee is even better when it's cold out.

Carl, I can't imagine watching my child's spinal fluid drain into a container.  This must be exhausting and surreal, praying daily!  She sounds like a strong human!  I love her response on the a.d.'s!

  10. Happy Monday from the far northwest!  Hitting the low 30's at night.  It's go time!  Allegedly some 'nino winds are gone this year and we should expect normal snowfall.  Believe it or not, we (well most of us) look forward to that.  Snow brightens up the dark winter!

My Beloved Braves are about to wrap up an abysmal season - football is in full swing - bring on the coffee - life is good!  Have a great week!

I has some fun over at a friend's house this weekend. I got to play around with a vintage Rock-Ola jukebox. Here is a picture of the inner workings.

Lets' not talk about Chuck the heels balls please.  You know how he likes to post pictures.

I'm glad Chuck the Heel is catching on - I thought Tar Chuck might also work, but "the Heel" is probably a little more endearing.

  12. Hello again all.  Chuck the heel - made another whirlwind trip for yet another wedding to your great state, this time to Greensboro.  Arrived Thurs, left Sun AM, with a 4 yo and a 1 yo - we might be nuts...  It went well.  I got my chick fil a fix.

Picked up a surround set last week including a pair of RF 52's, an RC 52 center and Rw 10d sub.  Will likely audition them for a spell in the living room (not the center and surrounds) and enjoy the 2.1 for while and re-sell on CL. They sound great - I supposed secretly I'm hoping to one day get a pair of Khorns for the living room.  ;)

Have a wonderful day!  Happy Friday Eve!
