  1. Thanks, not what I wanted to hear, but thanks the same.
  2. the settings are correct, if I plug headphones it it works, if I plug these speakers in it doesnt.
  3. Thanks again, I thought that would be my solution, but it does not seem to be working. Are the speakers powered through the sub? Do they need to be powered or is the amp on the computer sufficient? I have them connected like you suggested, but the computer speakers are still playing. I went in to settings and disable computer speakers and enabled the headphones, but there is just silence.
  4. Thanks billybob. I purchased the speakers used without the sub, so connecting it and turning it down is not an option. The cabling that came with the speakers (stock) seems to force you to connect the two front channel to the sub via 4 leads (positive/negative from each speaker). I was hoping that the cabling would allow me to connect the two front channel together then connect to the computer with a standard headphone/speaker 3.5 mm jack, but that does not seem to be the case. Each speaker has a 3.5mm jack on the back. I was hoping someone here had a workaround for not having the sub. EDIT: the computer connection is a 3.5mm jack
  5. I just purchased a Promedia 2.1 used, with out the subwoofer. I don't really need a sub and they were a great deal so I though why not. Now, I am not sure how to connect just the two speakers to my computer without the sub. Do I have to use the sub? I have all of the original cable and the pod, but connecting the two front channels without the sub seems to not be possible. Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  6. thanks mustang. now what about having that sub in a three sides enclosure? good, bad, indifferent? should i place it closer to the wall or more out into the room?
  7. hi guys, i need a little help. i have just moved into a new house and purchased a new receiver (denon 2112ci). The denon has the audyssey home theater calibration system and it seems to have worked very well as far as setting the levels for my front and surround speakers, i am set up for 5.1. now my question has to do with my sub. i am running kg 3.2s to the front channel and a sw-8 II subwoofer. i know the sub settings depend on the acoustics and size of the room as well as the placement of the sub, but i am curious as to what some of you experts would recommend i set the low pass and the level to on the sub. i would like to get some low end out of the kg 3.2s as well, but mainly from from the sub. the sub is connected via the RCA jacks and a splitter to the single rca on the receiver, not through the speaker connections if that makes a difference. also, my sub is placed in a cubby hole more or less. on its left is the back side of a short flight of stairs, on its right there is the outside of a built in desk/book shelf, and then the wall behind it. is this a good spot? i do not really have a corner it can be put in and i was wondering if having the sub in a three sided enclosure would cause issues. i am mainly using this set up to listen to rock, some hip hop, and a little jazz, along with watching television and movies. if there is any other info needed, please let me know. thanks for your help.
