  1. For sale are a pair of Fastrac Lascala wooden tractrix horns. These replace the K-400 mid-horn and offer a significant improvement in sound. Selling because I sold my Lascala speakers. Horns are in excellent condition. Price Drop: SOLD. Buyer pays shipping. Paypal add 3% unless payment via "gift." Thanks for looking!
  2. I purchased them through Bob Crites, who lists them as a drop in replacement for the K-55. They sounded excellent in my lascalas. And thank you Moray James for posting that information.
  3. Sasqwatch, these were sold earlier before your I got your pm. Thanks for your interest.
  4. I found it to be a noticeable improvement. Made them smoother and more pleasant to listen to, not that they weren't nice to begin with.
  5. I sold my LaScalas and the buyer wanted the original tweeters and crossovers. I've kept them boxed in my apartment since removing them from the speakers.
  6. I have a pair of barely used Atlas Sound PD-5VH Midrange Drivers. These are direct replacements for K-55V Klipsch drivers. Price drop $200. Buyer pays shipping. Thanks.
  7. I have a pristine pair of Crites Type A/4500 Crossovers and a pair of CT 125 Tweeters for sale. $SOLD, buyer pays shipping. Thanks!
  8. I have a pair of Klipsch La Scalas. Believe the year is '78. I have modified them with Fastrac Wood Horns and Crites Tweeter and Crossover. I will also consider selling these with the original components if that is preferred. Looking for $1500 with mods, $1000 with original horns tweeter and crossover (AA). Ideally local pick up in Southern California. They sound amazing. Am only selling due to space issues in my apartment. Many thanks.
  9. Will give 'em a call, get a price quote and pitch that reality show.
  10. Sounds like I'm gonna either get a used replacement k33-e or spend a little more and get two Crites CW1526's. Gonna research the forum for the best choice. If anyone has any opinions, hit me with them. As always, thanks.
  11. I popped out the problematic woofer and it doesn't look good. There are creases in the cone and the center is dented. I'll try to figure out how to post pics
  12. If anyone has a lead on a replacement woofer, let me know. Appreciate it.
  13. Swapped networks and the woofer/bass problem remains with the problem speaker. I guess that pinpoints the woofer as the problem, so that's good to know.
  14. Tightened the hell out of the woofer (it seemed fastened well to begin with) and the problem persists. It's fair to say that a crossover issue wouldn't lead to something like that, right? Thanks
  15. basically at louder volumes the woofer is rattling and you hear vibrations inside the enclosure vs a clean musical sound.
  16. Will inspect the woofer this afternoon and let you know. Pardon my ignorance, what does OHM mean? Thanks.
  17. Okay. Anything I should know about doing this? After the screws are off and I remove the base to inspect the woofer, is there a glue or sealant or anything involved in closing it back up? Sorry, am a relative novice working on speakers.
  18. Tightened all the screws and checked all the drivers, they're all working, but the problem persists. When I shift the balance to the good speaker, the bass is tight, but it's so loose on the other one. Thanks for your help on this.
