Got the system installed today. I had some issues with the Denon. There is a weird problem with the Blue Ray HDMI input. I called Crutchfield and we tried some things, long story short I can still use it while the replacement is on the way. Everything else went well. Speaker wires were measured at 7ft each for L and R. The center was cut at 4 ft. I installed Monster cable crimp on banana plugs for a nice polished looking connection. Those really fit in tight!. Sound is pretty good. Some notes on audessey: both front speakers came out to about 11.5ft each and similar from the center. The Sub was measured at about 31 ft. It is not that far away but I am using the SVS / Dayton wireless module. The sub is in the along the wall with the back about 2' from the wall...ok? The RF42's are slightly angled at about 6" from the wall. I am slightly underwhelmed with the sound. Could it be the distance from the wall? I am temped to order a set of RF 62's from Crutchfield....thoughts (+$200)? Would my Denon AVR-X2100W have enough to power them? Maybe it the 42's just need some break in time? Going to need to mess with some settings for video but will do more with that when replacement receiver comes in. The SVS sound good so far but have only listened to some Pink Floyd and Santana so far. No movies as of yet. Also while setting up audyssey I did not put the mic behind me like it showed on the screen. I put it in front of the couch. I no not have surrounds at this time it is just a 3.1 set up. SVS volume is set at 1/2, crossover all the way up. The receiver has all speakers set to small with the crossover at 80hz. Most of the settings as far as volume were all cut back about 6 db. I may bump the volume on the sub a couple notches on the receiver. I hear it is best to leave the volume on the sub itself at about 1/2 and use the receiver to raise it. Here are a couple pics. From when I turn on the player to play time seems like a good minute or two. I have heard a lot about oppo. I may look at that. Probably exceeds my TV's capabilities.

I have an older Sony blue ray player I bought back around 2008. Is there any value in upgrading to something like a new denon DBT-1713UD?

Just unpacked the PB1000. It reminds me of unpacking a tube style tv from back in the day! Nicely packaged and a very nice finish on the speaker box. My crimp on banana plugs also just got dropped off.

This afternoon I will get my last shipments in. My system will not be huge but will be a giant leap from my Boston acoustics powered sound bar! Tomorrow I will set up a Denon avr 2100x, Klipsch rf 42ii"s, rc 42 ii, and a svs pb1000. It will only be a 3.1 system for now as we may be moving in a year so I decided to hold off and get in ceiling speakers for surrounds later. This will be connected to my 60" sharp that is already hanging on the wall and an older Sony blueray player. It has been almost five years since I last had a decent set up. I cannot wait!

Just placed an order for the PB1000 w/ wireless kit. Should be in on Friday.

Where did you see the Klipsch for $569?

Ok. Didn't realize it was that new. Anyway I am interested in the one that retails for $550 no the cheaper one.

I refer to the sub I posted in the link as the new version as it appears it was released in 2014 while the R10SW was released I believe a couple years prior.

There has been lots of discussion on the older Klipsch R-10SW being a slouch. I have listened to the old vs the new offerings from Klipsch and agree the new R-110 is much better than the old one. Has anyone have first hand experience with the R-110 vs the SVS PB1000?

I got the same as Klipsch was offering. They have a great return policy if I need to use it.

I have a set of 42's on the way from crutchfield

Just got a email stating my order has been canceled due to speakers unavailable. Back to the original question. RF 42"s or RB 51"s? The new models are out of my price range.

They took into account my seating will be about 10' from the speaker, planned sub choice, and receiver power output.

Nothing like that is available for me to do.

I was thinking that at first but after two discussions with two different people at Klipsch I was recommended the RC 42 over the 52. The 52 will be my second choice though. Just got off the phone with the company that fulfils the orders at Klipsch.com and it does not look too good at this point. I guess they reach out to dealers directly to get inventory. Ill give them until Friday to find me a set. Then I will decide between the RB51 or RF42. I will probably order through crutchfield because of their return process. They have been really good to me over the years.

Well I ended up ordering a set of RF52's and a RC42 on the Klipsch website. It has been just over a day and have not received a tracking number. It makes me kind of nervous as the RF52's in Black are so elusive. If these do not go through I will be torn between the RF42's or RB 61's. According to Klipsch It seems they favor the RB61's over the RF 42's for larger rooms. I am looking a building a new system for a room that is 15x19 with 13' ceilings. I am torn between the smaller towers vs bookshelf. I will be using a sub. I will also need to be somewhat child resistant as we have a little one on the way. Would the towers be more stable vs speaker stands. In the end the cost is the same by the time I buy stands and book shelves vs the towers mentioned.

I have the local stereo shop stopping my to give an estimate on an in wall speaker system. When I stopped by their store they had a set of klipsch reference set up. The price was around $350 area retail for a 6.5" woofer. The $350 area is out of my price range as I will be building a system from scratch. I was looking at R-2650 $200 each and the R-1650 $150 each. How are these speakers? There is a possibility I may go with a in ceiling speaker for surrounds. I will get the installers opinion first. I have been a fan of Polk in the past but I am sure the Klipsch is just as good. My room is 14' x 16' with vaulted ceilings. Would something with a 6.5" woofer be fine? I will get either a Denon 1912 or a Yamaha RX-V671 receiver so there will be plenty of power. As for a sub they suggested a 10" Klipsch (SW 450 or SW110). Would a 10" be big enough? Basically I am new to the in wall type stuff. What questions should I be asking the installer when they come by my house for a quote and suggestions?
