  1. I have replaced my speakers a fourth time, I tested the 3rd at the store and it did the same noise (The dude that tested them heard it also). The 4th one seemed ok at the store, and when I first plugged them in at home. Now I realize that the same sound comes out but when the unit heats up. I unplugged them and let them cool and when I plugged them in again the sound was gone. The sound came back of course after they heated up. I am really loosing my desire to own Klipsch speakers. There is no one I know who owns these same ones so I cannot go listen to theirs. I do know someone who has the older version of the 4.1 and says they sound fine. I also know someone who wanted these but ended up returning them because of another problem and instead got the 2.1s. I am begining to think that it may either be a frequency that not many people can hear (I'm a damn dog), that the allmighty unkown hates me, or just plain and simple Klipsch "computer" speakers suck and THX is a bunch of BS? I can choose to have Klipsch replace them for me but then the possibility of a full refund from Best Buy is out the window =(. After cycling through four sets I would have to doubt the ones Klipsch replaces mine for will sound any better. After reading so many reviews and convincing myself to buy these speakers, it is hard for me to just give up on them. I post hoping someone out there can tell me specifically what is wrong or being perceived as wrong. I have never owned such powerfull speakers and perhaps this beep is a result of the power and common to high wattage units? I want to try better speaker wires, the ones that come with these speakers do look a little wimpy. I am not an Audio wiz who knows everything about speakers and wires and again hope someone in this bulletin board can help. Currently I am trying to see if I can reproduce the actual annoying beep some how so I can post the possible frequency and any other information. I would not really call it noise because it sounds like a constant never changing sound. I do know however that at the higher frequencies our measly ears can't distinguish many changes and it could possible be just high frequency noise. Someone please help =( Again thanks in advance.
  2. Another thing is that the high pitch hiss/beep was not overly loud. If there was enough sound coming out, it was overshadowed by the sound and barely noticable. However if there was a moment of silence or just low sounds then you could notice it clearly. They were also noticable when the computer is off and the speakers disabled. I find that odd, and end up disconnecting them to go to sleep since that was the only way to stop it. Sorry for the repeats, just want to be clear.
  3. Amy has replied already, but if anyone else wants to know: It was on the left front channel with the first set and on the right front with the second. Swapping speakers to that channel did not affect the noise. It always came from the same channel. It did not matter if I disconnected from the computer, turned it off, disabled the satellites, or plugged in a protable CD player. The only ways to stop it was to disconnect the beeping/hissing channel (left front on first set, right front on second) from the subwoofer, or to disconnect the power cord from the wall.
  4. Thanks for the tip, the Best Buy sets do seem to stick around there for a long time. I was looking at them for a while waiting for the price to go down some. Perhaps they were restocked =/. I did send an email to Amy a couple days ago, I guess she is buisy? Or maybe I should send it again. Called tech support but the dude was away or something, kept getting answering machine.
  5. No I did not check the settings but they should not matter because the beep is heard even when the computer is off and/or the satellites disabled. I have a Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 but again that should not matter because the beep is heard even when not connected to the sound card.
  6. I am experiencing a High Pitch Hiss come through to my front left speaker =(. I have tired just about everything to solve the problem. I sent an email to promediatech@klipsch.com yesterday but no reply yet. I have swapped wires around, satellites, but no change. I have swapped the power outlet from a surge protector to straight on the wall, and no change. I have turned off my computer and no change. The beep comes from the top horn part of the satellite. This comes through even when the satellites are disabled (Red LED). I thought I was just very unlucky and exchanged my set where I bought them (Best Buy). The nice new ones now emit the beep from the RIGHT!!! I am clearly disappointed after spending $300 on speakers that they make such an annoying beep. I have also plugged in a portable CD player just as others suggest and still it is there. I don't know what else to do! =( I have heard great things on these speakers and reffuse to think that all the 4.1s emit this beep and still get great reviews. I realize I could be very unlucky but twice in a row is a problem that needs fixing in my opinion. I post hoping there are others who have had this same problem and can console me with a solution. I set my mind into getting these speakers which are a great improvment from my no subwoofer free set. Having this happen to me twice really pisses me off. Thanks in advance for any possible help, :wq
