Let the critters hunt YOU and just turn up your car stereo!!9.gif

  2. Nicholtl has mentioned some good alternative players if you are interested in going progressive but on the other hand if your A-10 is still in good shape it remains one of the most outstanding players ever made.

Unfortunately the manufacturers arent putting out players of the quality of the Technics. Theres just not enough profit in it for them. Its become a throw-away world. Arent you tired of hearing old farts saying, They just dont make things like they used to?

Well, Scooter, your A-10 is a prime example of what the farts are talking about.

  3. A fine post Picky however lets just skip the so-called music thats cranked out today. Where are the GREAT musicians that will forge the way for future musicians to emulate within the next decade? Frankly I dont hear or see any. Sure people can say they heard a few fine players that will hardly be noticed because they are stuck in the independent label trap. Maybe Im getting old and out of touch but do you know what? Musicians know. Im one and I talk to other musicians all the time. They agree with me AND Im talking about musicians of ALL ages. Where is the modern day MUSICIANS Musician? Hmmmm. Maybe their stealing the greats licks by sampling them. Im not negative. I just dont see any gurus on any instrument rising today. Shall I list names of some of the TRUE greats that have influenced players forever? Naaaaaah. I wont put you all through that.1.gif

Those RC-7s are made of Klipschtonite!!!

    Its the Adventures of Klipschman!

    Faster than a speeding bullet!

    More powerful than a locomotive!

Able to leap tall floor standing speakers at a single bound!

"Yes, it's Klipschman, strange visitor from another

far beyond those of mortal men. Klipschman, who can

change the course of mighty rivers, bend speaker wires in

his bare hands; and who, disguised as Trey Cannon,

mild-mannered worker for a great metropolitan

speaker company, fights a never ending battle for truth,

Maybe next year I'll sneak one of those Centerstages or an iScan HD over to your house after the tour of the plant and we can compare/contrast a good outboard scaler vs. internal upsampling.

    Your on!

    ----------------

Hey yeah. Do dat. I'd like to hear your opinions on that comparison. Whoa, wait a minute! What's wrong with doing it at my house? O.K.? Whatta ya say?

Ive recently have gotten a DSL hookup and I need to use Internet Explorer. The only way I can get things to work once Im into the Forum is go back to using AOL, otherwise all I get is posts from the previous day. Nothing is updated . I need to reload and refresh constantly. Hmmmmmmmmmm

  8. If I'm gonna throw these esoteric terms around, I gotta make sure I know what I'm talking about beforehand, lest I look like a salesman or something! 3.gif

Griff Youre crackin me up. I would of never thought you were tryin to sell anything. 2.gif I must admit that you do deal with top of the line outfits. Now if I only had the money to buy some of the toys we both agree are the best wed be talkin more often.1.gif

Audio Flynn Im with you on the RP-91. I own two of them. Some people might think it has become a dinosaur in the world of DVD players but it is still a great performer especially when compared to the newer throw away players they are manufacturing today.

  9. As usual Griff is right. Zenith blew it. An outboard scaler is the way to go. That way you can use the RGB or component inputs and plug them into whatever your display accommodates.

Check out the shootout info on DVD players.

    Secrets shoootout

Unfortunately the top 6 players that are on their list are hardly available except for the 5900(which they adore. Yeah right.) and the 2900. All Denon of course., Hmmmmm. Whats up with that? I have a Denon 1600 however, as many people know, it is actually a Panasonic in Denon clothing.

Have fun. There's a big ole bunch of players to look at.BBB
