Just wanted to get an opinion on these types of sites. Are they safe? Do I get warranty coverage? Am I getting 'B' goods? Thanks.
I too bit the bullet and purchased my RX-V1200 + Klipsch RF-3 reference package online (from hificiti on Yahoo shopping). From my estimates, I must have saved at least $500 vis-a-vis a local authorized B&M store (could have saved ~$750 if I had gone in for the RX-V1000).
Now, it does concern me somewhat that I bought from an unauthorized dealer, but hey, my wallet (and my wife) are pretty happy. I did have a small scare w/ my subwoofer (see posting), but the way they handled it was probably better any authorized dealer would have.
Also, several online sites do realize the dilemma and offer they own warranty protection in lieu of the manufacturers'. One may argue that they might default on their obligation, but since bad buzz has a way of getting around the Internet, I would doubt it :-).
Regarding the "B" goods question, most sites categorically state that most items are NOT ("B" goods), unless explicitly mentioned otherwise.
