  1. Thanks for all the advice guys, I appreciate it. I did go with the Klipsch sub, the RT-12d. I got it for $325, which from responses on the forum, sounds like a pretty good deal. I'm pretty much have no idea what to look for when it comes to separates. I'll look into those items mentioned.
  2. The puzzle pieces are coming together... I now have a sweet Klipsch RF-83 system with an RC-64 center and a RT-12d subwoofer. If I had some RS-52s, I'd have the original set that came with the entire RF-83 system. Now I need a receiver. I want to keep the receiver under $1k, but if there was an awesome one slightly over $1k that would provide me a much better product, I'd be willing to splurge a little bit. I've been looking at Marantz, Integra, and Denon, but not sure what exactly I want yet. Any suggestions?
  3. I got the RT-12d and it is more than enough for my room. I can't imagine what it would sound like if I had gotten a more powerful subwoofer, but I'm sure the pictures would be falling off the walls. And I saved $200-600 that I can now use on a receiver.
  4. Is there a place to buy a replacement mic? You do need the mic for the auto-tune functions, right?
  5. I got the 83s and the 64 from USNRET today. That was a pretty easy drive to get what I've been wanting. I set them up and they sound amazing!! I'm using my old Bose acoustimass subwoofer for bass right now, and even with that little POS, the system sounds frickin sweet! I need a real subwoofer now. Thanks. I'll post pics when I get everything set up. I still need some surrounds. The RS-7s were a bit too big for my walls. Anyone got some old RS-62s or RS-52s they want to sell me? Eagle
  6. 1st: Did the Klipsch RT-12d originally come with a microphone to do the auto tuning, or was the mic sold separately? 2nd: Do you need the mic for the auto-tuning, or is the mic for another function? Can you just buy another mic from radio shack to suffice? 3rd: I know the RT-12d isn't the biggest monster subwoofer out there, but would you be willing to buy one for $325 or is that still too much for its performance?
  7. Thanks for the idea on the RS-7s, but white speakers won't really match what I'm trying to build in my media room.
  8. I'm going to need some rear and side speakers with my RF-83 and RC-64. What are some suggestions? Would it be OK to buy some brand new RS-62 IIs or do I need the older ones? How about RS-52s or 42s? My room is 14'x15'x9'. So any suggestions on what to buy for sides and rear speakers? Thanks, Eagle
  9. Thanks. Looking forward to meeting up next week.
  10. PM Sent to USNRET. Looking forward to a response.
  11. $700, it appears there are some minor imperfections on the speaker on the left, but no holes. What do you think, would this be a good deal?
  12. I found some RF-7s. I'd have to drive about 5 hours to get them. What would be a fair price for some maple RF-7s that are a few years old?
  13. Would RF-7s be compatible with the RC-64 or just the 83s or 63s?
  14. Yeah, most of the hits are best buy and the other one's that are supposedly Klipsch dealers don't have any to demo.
  15. Do you know of a good audio video store in the Houston area I should check out to demo some subs or towers?
