  1. Hi Folks...I know alot of people hook their SP2s up to their home theater. Are the games recorded in 5.1 or do they do it for another reason? Thanks

    DTS Format

Hey folks....is there a site or somewhere where I can get a list of movies that come in DTS format, or do I just get lucky looking at them on the shelf? Thanks for your help..... John
  3. Hey Folks, I have a pair of RP-5s, and was wondering, besides the sub-woofers in rp-5s, what the differences are between the 2 speakers are. I know the rf-3s have 1 more woofer than the rp-5s, and I remember hearing the rf-3s in a shop a while back and was completely blown away by how nice they sounded, thats why I went with RP-5s, and RS-3s, and dont get me wrong, Im happy with the rp-5s, but I think from what I remember, the rf-3s impressing me more. Could this be true? Does the 1 speaker make that much difference? Or am I wrong, or could the shop have had something else running and not telling me? Just curious....Thanks for replies in advance. John
  4. Ed...Thanks, Ill check it out. When I bought all the components, I was in the plug 'n' play mode. Now Im tweaking.....thanks again. John
  5. Doug, thanks for the reply, but I dont remember seeing that in my receiver. I saw for the fronts and the sub channel, so Ill take a look. Thanks, John
  6. Hey All, I have RP-5's with a Yamaha 5250 receiver. I picked up a pair of Quintets from Ubid (basically for the hell of it) and hooked them up as rears with my system. My question is: If I pick up a pair of RS-3's, will they sound better than this volume wise? I can barely hear them and Im thinking the fronts and the rc-3 center is blowing them away. Is this a 'speaker matching' scenario? Thanks folks, John
  7. Hey Folks....Im thinking about getting RS-3's for my rears and Im wondering if you mount them on the wall or are there stands for them? Thanks for the help, John
  8. Hey Boa....Thanks. Isnt that already happening with the gold straps? Also, If I dont have rears yet, will setting the rears to large on the yammy lower the level of bass im getting? As I was saying, some dvd's especially music, the bass is very overewhelming, and I love bass, but its too much. Im not sure what they are set on (the rears) cause Im at work, but I just thought of that. John
  9. Hey Boa, Can you explain bi-wiring to me? I see alot on here, and that it makes a huge difference in center channels and mains, and I do have a rc-3 center. Caught my curiousity. Thanks
  10. Hey Boa, Ok, that makes sense. As I was I saying, my have an EXTREME amount of bass because of the rp-5's. Im thinking its cause they are faced in towards my entertainment center, about 4 inches away. I have them this way cause I have 2 4 legged little friends with claws (cats) that I dont want to mess them up. Im thinking about getting grills to put over them and move them outward some. What do you think? John
  11. Boa12, I just have one question then. You said to use the LFE connections cause the Line in's are unfiltered. But in my Klipsch manual for the RP-5's it says to only connect the LFE in's to a low pass filtered signal which makes me think that the LFE itself isnt filtered, but what you connect to it should be. And I have a tememdous amount of bass coming from them subs, so much that I have to set the reciever to a cinema setting that lays way off the bass. Again, thanks for the help. John
  12. Hi Folks, I just purchased a pair of RP-5's and the above mentioned Yamaha receiver. My question is how do I hook them up? The Yamaha has 1 sub-out, so I bought a y-cable and ran that out of the sub-out to each lfe-in on the powered subs, and I ran the front speaker-outs from the Yamaha to the 'high' terminals on the RP-5's. Thats how I left it. Am I supposed to be using the line-in's on the RP-5's somehow? I dont even know what they are truthfully. The Yamaha I believe sends an LFE signal out of the sub-out. I'll be using it mostly for DVD's but some music too. Thanks for your help in advance. I appreciate it. John
