  1. Thanks to every one for the responce s and Histories . Perhaps I should rephase my question a little . I understand how the cabinets in the k.horns , belles . la scalas help amplifiy the sound from the drivers . the fortes . corwalls and chorues however are standard box type cabinets with some refinements . the tweeter and midrange horns employed in these speakers seem to be identical in some cases . the forte' and the chorus first versions are the same size etc.( are they the same ? ) However the chorus is rated 3db more sensitive . Is this due to the larger woofer figured into the average or is it due to the larger cabinet design ?
  2. I've noticed that the tweeter and mid range horns of the fortes and cornwalls are the same size are they the same drivers .Is the greater sensativity due to the difeerences in the woofers being averaged in ?
  3. I/m pretty much commited to biamping my forte's and since i'm doing that it brings to mind ; well what if i used the mid horn and or tweeter horn from another klipsch speaker and just made them fit in my forte cabinets? the object being greater sensitivity of the other horns . Or am I not understanding some basic phenome? Each speaker has a different number coresponding to the horns in them . the forte's have K-75 tweeter and k-53 mid range . the cornwall 2s have k- 79 and k-57 horns ,But they are the same Size? so whats the difference ? how do the Cornwalls get 3DB more sensitivity . is it just the bigger box ? is it the crossovers? Are the K horn, belles , la scala s more sensative because of the box design ? thanks \ Steve
  4. would a pair of KLIPSCH KP-360s be good for home use using a set of 10 watt tubes mono blocks in a 14 x 14 room ?
  5. I have what in theory is a great setup for bi amping my pair of forte's. a pair of 10 watt monoblock tubes amps and a set of solid state mono blocks. My concern is this , the tube amps start to soft clip at volume levels i still find pleasurable .( they have their own gain controls so I have for the moment bypassed the preamp and take the signal direct fro the nad 513 cd )they sound just great below that level but sometimes a peak will crackle a bit . If I bi amp then would the tubes have more power to drive the treble horns into the just loud enough range or have i already met the sensistivty limits of these horns and would be better off finding a pair of more sensitive cornwall2 chorus 2s la sacalas of belles . my room is 14x 14 . are they ways to upgrade the fortes to greater sensitivety regardless ?
