  1. IMO, flipping items is just fine as long as it is not done under false or misleading pretences.<snip>

  2. Or just wait for the daily 'No Affiliation' postings here.

    Keith

You're right, that's how we can get what we're looking for. I really do like how we watch out for deals for one another. I post deals when I see them. We have a real Bloodhound helping out daily who has helped me more than once finding good deals. [Y]

He found someone selling center that I am picking up tomorrow. [H]

  3. Yeah, this has been happening a lot here as well. There is a klipsch "flipper" just down freeway from me who must scan craigslist all day long. I've been trying to slowly build back my system since my divorce. There was a mint pair of cherry RF-5's for $400 ( his asking price, but I'm sure he sold them for less) and I called within 30 minutes and they were already sold. A short time later, they were listed on this forum:-( That wasn't the first time the "flipper" beat me out on a good deal only to re-sell them. Almost everything he sells here has been bought on craigslist to be flipped. I gave up after he bought the RF-5's.

I hear that Goodwill stores are great places to get good deals too. I hit several, several times over a few weeks. I asked the clerks if they get much of the older stereo equipment in. The answer was yes, but there are a couple of guys who check the stores 3 and sometimes 4 times everyday. I just wanted to score a pair of speakers or a solid state amp or...,I don't have time to compete with flippers. [N]

  4. I believe I've seen these or some others that were in that same store. They look okay as does the LaSala, Advent, and tube amps they have. Everything is a bit high for me. One thing I want to be sure I share with anyone going to see these: One block over, there is a pizza place called Wick's that serves one of the better pizzas I've ever had. Plenty of flavor and piled high. [;)]

  5. I emailed the guy. Waiting for email back. You get in contact with him? I have a good friend who has been looking for these speakers. I hope they are the cf 3;)

I didn't try to reach the seller. I just found the listing this morning and posted it here. I have a pair and for that price I would get them too - if they were close. Good luck on getting them.

  6. I would get these if they were close to me

Realize that I'll be (probably) moving some things back to Knoxville which isn't terribly far from Lexington.

Sent two emails to the Cornwall dude.... hearing nothing but crickets so far.

Thanks for the thought Richard. The Fortes make a lot of great sound, especially for that price. I have two pair of Fortes, so I wouldn't want someone to go out of the way to get me another pair.

I would like a pair of your EVs if you're ready to let a pair go. [:D]

  7. Do you guys recommend anything in particular? They are 1976 Heresy Is if that makes any difference.

Yes, the Marantz on the bottom.[:P]

If it was one of the ones with 100w+, they will bring twice that price. It's been a while since I have had a Marntz, and never have had one of the big ones.http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-1970s-Marantz-2325-Stereo-Receiver-125-WPC-Dolby-Noise-Reduction-/200958913888?pt=Vintage_Electronics_R2&hash=item2eca15ad60&nma=true&si=WiWxExUh2EB%252FwV2x16mEI77qE%252B0%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

  8. Pretty sure there were no Marantz receivers, and like I said, I was one of the first in the house. There were Pioneers and a boxed Onkyo or two, but that was about it.The Heresy's were the only things worth grabbing, and grab them I did. Beer

Thanks and glad you two were able to score. They might have sold the receivers before the sale, or they weren't Marantz, but there looks to have been two of them to me. The one on the bottom will be one of the bigger ones they made.

  9. If someone would like those... I'd be willing to help. Not as in help pay Surprise
but... It's looking 80% that I'll be moving some things to Tennessee
in a couple weeks. If this pans out, I'll have a U-Haul and will be
dragging numerous large items back north.

I'll probably go I-75 north straight through Georgia & through Chattanooga.

I'm also debating on grabbing those Cornwall cabinets. Sent him an email already. No response yet.

I would get these if they were close to me. I found them after looking at your alert on the Cornwall cabinets. I do want those to upgrade the Cornwalls I have. Too far again. [:(]

The riser on one of them looks upside down for some reason. I wonder how the passives looks and if they have grills. That's mighty cheap.

You're right about the riser, I didn't notice. That is a great price.

This sale is listed under Garage/Moving Sale, due to the limited
category options on Craigslist. This category is the only place we had
to list this sale. This is a Downsizing sale only - not your typical
Garage or Yard Sale. No street signs, giving directions, will be
placed. There will be a later posting for a Garage/Yard Sale following
    this Downsizing Sale.

    blabla....

  11. These should be worth what they're asking.

For sale is my Klipsch/Crown PA system. Klipsch are known for audiophile
sound home speakers and theater sound systems. These Klipsch PA
speakers have a 15" woofer and compression driver horn for mids and
highs. They also have a down firing, 12" passive radiator (See pics) and
can be mounted on a stand. The power amp is a Crown Power Base 2,
which puts out 400 watts RMS per channel. The road case is a Cadence 8
place wooden rack case with felt covering. I'll even throw in the Roland
mixer. This is one very loud, great sounding PA system. The Klipsch's
put out thumping bass with beautiful mids and highs. Great for band PA
or a DJ setup or when you just want to throw a party. At this price it
is a steal and you can't go wrong. I need the room and my loss is your
    gain.

Text or call 770. 7onethree.3fourfour8 or use CL mail.

    Cash only, no exceptions!

  12. Got there at 8:20, was fourth in line. Luckily only one guy ahead of me wanted the Heresys, so I got the second non-sequential set (his were sequential). $100 per speaker!!! Excellent condition, just dusty. Not much else there...Fisher, etc, Pioneer solid states. Another guy showed up 30 minutes later and tried to buy them off of me and throw in $100. Yeah right.

This is my first set of this calibre speakers and I am super excited to get my Don Sachs reconditioned HK A-300 integrated tube amp, hook them up and spin some vinyl! A big thank you to opus2K9!!!

I'll post pics as soon as I can...gotta head out of town now.

Did you see the two Marantz receivers sell? $?

A big thank you to opus2K9!!!

    +1 [Y]
