If that is how the 64 needs to be positioned, it might be a better idea to get another rf-7, that would be the optimum setup anyway for the front sound stage.
I do plan to get another 7. Know anyone selling one? Anyone want to buy/trade?
Thanks for the replies!

Now that I'm working on a "real" theater with an AT screen and RF7II mains I'm thinking about the center. I might get another 7 for the center but for now I have the 64. When using vertically like I have in the picture, should the horn/tweeter be pulled out and rotated or left alone?
-
Wow nice . Do you have them behind a AT screen?
I do. Moving all the gear into a closet this weekend so it will free up the space in the screen area. Hmmmm, maybe "upgrade" the RC-64II center to an RF-7II......

Thanks for the feedback. The problem with the 52's is that there are 62's so it's only a matter of time......

Going to pick up some new surrounds. Just got rf7 II's for fronts.
The RS 62II is really too big for my space. How much of a step down are the 52II's. What about the older 52 paired with a 7II, RC 64II front?

Anybody here go from an Onkyo 818 to a Marantz 7008? Thinking of doing this. Interested in the Sub EQ on the Marantz for dual subs. Going to pick up another PSA XS15 sub.

Did you ever get your speaks? Let us know how it went.
Ron
Picked them up Wednesday from freight terminal. Haven't had a chance to open them yet but at least the boxes are in perfect shape. Transaction and communication went perfectly smoothly. FYI,the ad says fast and free shipping. These are shipped by freight carrier not Fedex or Ups so ignore that estimated arrival date. Also they don't deliver to residential address for free. I have a truck so I had him ship to the closest freight terminal, of which there are a bunch close by.

You're on the wrong side of the country.

believe me... if you write him and he has any left, I bet he sells them to you for that price.

The "sale" is showing that it ends tonight. Not sure of the price will jump back up or be re listed as is.

Purchased this time last year, hooked up for a week or two, then got upgradeitis and bought the RC64II . Put the 52 back in the box and that's where it's been ever since. Essentially a brand new speaker
Selling for $225 shipped to you. Local pickup in Massachusetts $200.00
Good deal sorry to derail the thread but did you notice a big difference between the 52 and the 64? I am saving for the 64 ...PM me if better
As the other guys said, different league altogether.

Won't be able to listen to both. Not going to waste a dealers time knowing I'm not buying from them. So Knowing that I have a RC64II and love it, which way would YOU go?

Anyone have and feedback on the seller?

RF-7II's in New Bedford, Massachusetts CL
Thanks for the replies.
I saw that listing and it's definitely a serious consideration. I'm a little skeptical though as I think those have been listed there for a very long time.

As the title says I currently have an RC64II center, about a year now. Just finished theater upgrade, new projector and screen, so I have space to accommodate new L and R speakers. RF7II might be a little taxing for my wallet so I'm thinking maybe rf82ii of find some rf 83. Mostly movie use in 17x12 room seated about 12 feet away, speakers behind AT screen. Thoughts?
Side note, I also have an rc52II brand new in box if anyone is looking for one. Shoot me a pm

I'm not really looking to buy anything right now. These just happen to come up. I Actually bought a new center a few weeks ago. RC-64II. Going to buy some RF7II's eventually but being tax season and self employed Uncle Sam has other ideas what I should be doing with my money.

I have a neighbor selling a set of RF 3s for three hundred bucks. Is that a reasonable price? they are in great condition.

He has that on Ebay too. It's pretty beat up but it is going behind a screen so it might be worthwhile to check it out.
