  1. I think that would be a great fit with a low noise floor. That would be better than 95% of the avrs being sold today. Now...as to a preamp, the Emotiva would be great if you have a pretty good understanding of audio gear/hookup/operation and can deal with updating etc...An avr, while not quite as good (imo) will have more features, easier operation, family friendly ,auto update etc.....If you love music tough it out for the Emo, mostly movies, Onkyo with pre outs

LOL, I just need to hear somebody say with certainty to get the UPA-500, and that it will be fine even if I use the RF-52 system in the future. Then I can dela with the pre amp/ receiver option later I was already buying that preamp though.

  2. Thank you for your email. Klipsch speakers are hyper efficient and do not require massive amounts of power to drive them to their fullest potential. The UPA-500 was designed with speakers such as Klipsch in mind. If you have any further questions please let us know. Thank you for your consideration.

That is the email response from the Emotiva rep. I aske if I should go with XPA-5 and they are recomending I stay with UPA-5. Will the UPA-500 be good enough if and when I upgrade to 82s? I feel like I was pulling the trigger to fast on the XPA-5.

  3. AHHHHH!! i finally made the decision to get the XPA-5 and the UMC-200.. I was ordering it through Amazon because they have one year no intrest. They dont have the pre amp on there!! I sent Emotiva an email and they said that they can only sell through Amazon if they have it in stock and ready to ship. Since they are constantly backordered on the pre amp it will be some time before it will be available at Amazon.

  4. The 1020 has been bench tested at 63.9w/ch with five channels driven and 57.0 with seven channels driven

Thanks for your reply.. This is good, so will the 1020 be a good buy if Im goint to run the RF-52II system or should i just get A820 for less and buy an amp?

  5. You are over thinking this

I might be over thinking it. Its just the receiver I have now I just got 2 years ago and I regreat getting it. I dont want the same thing to happen to me again. If I can ask you or anybody else a question? I am now looking at the Yamaha Advantage Line. http://www.amazon.com/Yamaha-RX-A720-7-2-Channel-AVENTAGE-Receiver/dp/B0087KGLEO/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1367419563&sr=8-2&keywords=yamaha+advantage You can see all the receivers in their line in the middle of the page. My RX-V371 is rated at 100w per channel. It cost me about $250 when bought it. I am looking at the RX-A1020. That receiver cost more than 4x more than my old receiver. Yet it only does 10 more wattsd per ch. Would this be an upgrage worth that much money? I will later be using the pre outs and the 6 ch input for Oppo. But as far as giving me more power and or better sound, will it do that? I also heard that while my old receiver gives 100w per ch, it really only gives me like 70 when all channel are being driven. Is this the case with the 1020? I just want to make sure that if I spend $1,100 on that receiver I am actually upgrading my sound and power not just spending the money to have the pre out option 2 years from now. If thats the case I can buy RX-A820 for $250 less and just get it over with and buy Emotiva amp. Sorry for the long post here, but I have been on this forum since I got my speakers like three months ago and I trust your expertise. Thank you all in advance.

  6. The xpa-5 might be overkill for your speakers but If it was me and i had to pick one of those i would get the xpa-5

I dont mind overkill.. Like most of you here I am now an addict and am sure I will be upgrading speakers. Not soon but maybe in a a few years. If I keep going the way I am I will soon be destitute.

  7. Which one of these is a better amp over all and why? Please help I think I am narowing down my decision on what amp I want to get. If you can please keep my system in mind RF52II, RC62II and RS42s. If its a tie it goes to Emotiva, because its cheaper. Thank you all in advance..

  8. Thanks, I am looking to upgrade my receiver maybe even getting an amp.. I think this is the best question I can ask so I can get a better idea of what I should get so that I can be happy with my system and can upgrade my speakers later without havint to spend another 2 or 3 thousand on an amp.

  9. I would like to pose a couple of questions to all of you here. What speakers are you using? What are you using to power thosse speakers, an amp or receiver? How happy are you with that amp or receiver? Do you fell like its just right, you could do better or is it overkill for your set up? Lastly whats your favotite color?

  10. I have a Marantz SR7007 (as some of you with a little bit of detective work figured out). Because of the sensitivity of the speakers, I didn't see the need to add an additional amp at this time. With my relatively small living room, I am pretty confident that my receiver will more than do the job for now.

How is this working out for you so far? Have you played it at loud volumes?

  11. It's not just efficiency only. The RF-7 II is officially rated 8 ohms compatible. However, it has an impedance dip that could stress out your amp. At low impedance, the speakers will demand a higher current that a lot of integrated AVR's could not safely handle at high volumes. At worst case scenario, your AVR will shutdown or even burn out, possibly blowing your speakers in the process.

Since it seems you know what you are talking about. Here is a question for you I am running RF52 and plan on upgrading to 82s in a year or two. My buddy is recomenting me to go with http://www.amazon.com/Marantz-AV7701-Processor-Networking-AirPlay/dp/B0092MMXIE/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=1L99N9TZCDOUI&coliid=I21VD1NB03MAX6.. What is your opinion? Is this good enough, over kill, and or will I be able to use this when I upgrade? This does have 5 ch XLR so I am able to hook up amp in the future. I want to have all bases covered so that I wont have to upgrade my amp till way in the future. Whats your opinion? Or anybody else that can help?
