  1. I am after a set of grill assemblies for my 1985 Klipschorns.

I have checked with the various people who make after market wood horns and have not been able to find a set.

I will consider buying a custom made set (with the holes drilled for the original K-55-V/K-77 drivers) if someone is able to build these.

    I am in Ontario, Canada.

  2. I searched a bit after my post in the forum and found schematics in a zip file of the Type A & Type AA networks.

You are right - the Type AA has tweeter protection while the squawker/woofer sections look identical between the A & AA.

This should make it a simple task to try out each of the types to hear which ones I prefer.

    Thanks for the information.

  3. I bought a set of 1985 Klipschorns and the original crossovers were updated with aftermarket units.

These aftermarket crossovers sound fine and that being said, I would like to try a set of Type A Klipsch crossovers and a set of Type AA Klipsch crossovers to experience Paul Klipsch's "take" on the Klipschorn!

    My questions are;

    1) I have an official Type A schematic but it does not show the model of drivers - my current drivers are Crites CW1526, K-55M and K-77's - does anyone know what "official" drivers are meant to work with the Type A crossover?

    2) Is there an "official" schematic of the Type AA available? I want to compare crossover parts of a Type A crossover with a Type AA crossover. I have a used Type AA crossover on the way and am wondering if I can easily convert it to a Type A.

    Thank you for any information.

  4. There is a guy selling a pair of nice looking K-33's in the garage sale section.

I have already ordered a set of the cast iron frame Crites woofers.

I am going to throw in this woofer for free with the round magnet K33E woofer that I have listed in the garage sale section. It will be great to get any information on the woofer as there are no markings.

  5. I bought a set of 1985 Klipschorns and while checking them for any issues before putting them into my installation, I found out that one of the woofers is different than the specified round magnet K33 E.

The different woofer has no markings, as per the picture and measures 6.7 ohms vs the other woofer which is a round magnet K33 E which measures correctly at 3.7 ohms.

I have ordered a set of Crite replacement woofers and just am curious as to what the previous owner(s) put into the one bass bin.

    Thank you for any information.

  6. I just bought a set of very good condition 1985 Klipschorns and their woofers do not match - I have order a pair of Crties CW1526 woofers for them.

Thus, I have one round magnet K33E woofer for sale and can throw in the other unknown speaker for free (it has no markings and measures 6.7 ohms).

The K33E is still in the cabinet and works properly - the resistance measures 3.7 ohms with my Fluke 1987 multimeter.

I can supply detailed pictures if there is any interest.

My asking price is $80 and if my asking price is met, I can throw in the other speaker.

I live near Toronto in Ontario, Canada.

Shipping may be a possibility and of course, shipping will be extra.
